I don't know if you have mentioned this before on other video: a way to shorten charging time drastically, point a fan toward the watch while charging and it cools off the watch while charging and doesn't trigger the slowing down to prevent overheating. I can charge to a 100% while taking my shower in morning, from a very low battery (9%). PS... your tips are great and I am going to use most of them and see if I can get through 24 hours without having to charge.

Doesn't this damage something within the watch tho?
@D13GO6542 жыл бұрын
@@canyousmushit I doubt it, it's not just with watches. Batteries charge slower as they heat up, with less heat it gets to work as efficient as it needs to be.
@garbageson79802 жыл бұрын
@@canyousmushit As a general rule, batteries will charge best when they are at a room temperature. (So 18-25°C is safe) But batteries produce heat, and that heat needs to be dissipated. (Not the same as being cooled down) Without the fan, the heat dissipated passively, it heats up the air around it, and slowly rises up. With the fan, it's active so it's faster. Instead of slowly rising up, you just push it to the side. New air (that is at the room temperature) is surrounding the watch, being heated, and getting pushed aside. What would probably damage the battery is cooling or heating the battery beyond it's optimal temperature. For example pointing a heater, air-conditioning unit or puting the watch in the fridge. Fan is not going to do that, battery will never get lower than the air that you push into it (room temperature)

Thank you for the detailed video. I bought the GW4 yesterday and I was beginning to have buyers remorse after experiencing and hearing how quickly the battery drains. My GW battery pales in comparison to the GW4. Since implementing your suggestions I've seen a change, though I've only had the watch ⌚️ for a few hours. I really saw the difference in power today since wearing it for 24 hours. Great video and thanks again. Update: After wearing the watch for 36 hours consecutively, I've noticed a huge increase in battery life. So after waking up Monday morning at 6:15, it was around 90% (with help of initiating bed time mode, power saving, etc). I did a mini charge before leaving for work. By 4pm, it was around 80%! I did keep it in power saving so I think that really helped. 😅

One more tip, turn on airplane mode along with bedtime mode at night. It is the most effective way I noticed. Anyway I don't see any reason for the watch to be connected to phone when sleeping, unless snore detection is needed. Sleep tracking works fine.
@Niko80s2 жыл бұрын
I've tried everything and the only one neat trick that helps with battery draining (except for power saving mode, but i dont use it cause if i would want regular watch then i would buy one) is to put your watch in airplane mode when going to sleep. It's still gonna measure and track your sleep data, but disconnecting bluetooth and some other minor functions will give you about 1% an hour drain only.

Thanks for the video! I've had the original Galaxy Watch for three years and I was getting 5 - 7 days out of it only really using it for notifications and to tell the time, with the odd use of a calculator, timer, messages, phone calls and exercise tracking. But it was starting to feel really clunky. So when I saw the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic was on sale for Boxing Day, I jumped on it and got one. And though I understand why it chews through the battery, I was still greatly disappointed to hear about the battery life 😅 But after reading some comments I am hopeful these suggestions will make a difference, thanks!

I've had me galaxy 4 classic 46mm for a week now, I've followed these tips exactly, even have display brightness set down to 15% and I don't use always on display. I've never been able to get battery life past 36 -38 hours. I simply can't believe that it's possible to get over 60 hours without charging. Even if I'd activate power saving on top of all this, I can't reach more than 43-44 hours tops. How on earth you can reach 60+ hours is beyond me. It's still good tips you give here though, no debate there, thanks!

Thanks, but I went to Settings\Accessibility\Advanced settings (11:43) and the only options that appear there are Accessibility shortcuts, Vibration watch, and Time to take action. If I tapped on Accessibility shortcuts, Grayscale does not appear (although it surprises me that color would use more energy). Another thing that relates to the extra charger concept is Wireless PowerShare (but you probably discuss elsewhere and it's more of a phone feature). We recently stayed at a hotel that didn't have USB charging in the room (and I didn't being a laptop), so I had to use my S22 to charge my GW4. Nice feature to have!

Hi everyone on this page. From purchasing the very first Samsung watch which was the gear S and then the gear s3 Frontier I can honestly say I was spoilt from an early age. As both of these were taken off charge from 6.00AM in the morning and still had approximately 40% battery life around 11.00 PM. I purchased the watch 4 and was disappointed with the battery life. I seriously took it back and told the salesman there was a problem with the battery. He told me that this watch is great and has great functions but unfortunately we are getting the same complaints from a lot of customers. If you’re looking for a watch that you don’t have to worry about charging it in the middle of the day then this watch is not for you. I know my next watch will be the galaxy watch 5 Pro. Please don’t take this the wrong way but I was expecting the watch 4 to perform like my previous watches. Thank you to the gentleman who posted the KZbin video on battery saving tips. Great job mate.

@moviegametime38912 жыл бұрын
@@zilmerx1652 I'm quite satisfied, to be honest! Using the watch from around 8am to 11pm every day I never worry about battery life, it always reaches the end of the day with around 35% battery on busy days (when I register my workouts), sometimes 60 or 70% if I barely used it (if I only looked at the time and notifications). Apps work great too, though bear in my mind I'm not a super heavy user like others. I don't pay with the watch, I don't play music directly from there (I still use the media controls when I use my phone, though), I don't monitor my sleep or my oxygen levels, I don't connect it directly to the wifi unless there's an update (I think it's better to do wifi stuff with the phone only) and of course mine doesn't use a sim card. Instead, I check the time and weather, reply to messages with Gboard, register my workouts (1-2 hours every day), occasionally use maps for 30 minutes a day and I see my notifications. Oh and I indeed have my always on display activated and sometimes I have animated or colored watch faces, at the highest brightness. And it works really great for me. And without ever using the power saving options of the watch, only some of the tips in this videos :) If you want to use absolutely everything the watch offers, chances are you'll struggle with the battery. I didn't hear you speak of voice reminders; however, after watching many of your videos, I assume this feature is readily available on all Samsung models(?) Maybe the smaller watch is better because it would be easier to clean/sanitize bodily fluids? It's interesting that users, after buying a product because of the plethora of features it offers, go to great lengths to turn everything off in order to save some battery life and do not wrestle with the charger too many times. I understand that some of the apps aren't as useful as they might've been advertised to be, but if someone decides to turn a smartwatch into a normal one, he would be better off and lose less money, if he bought a completely different device anyway. I really applaud tech advisors for making videos like the one above, but in fact, they shouldn't be inclined to do so, because smartwatches powered by WearOS or WatchOS are known for their somewhat poor battery life.

I can get almost full 2 days with ~15h always on on 20/35% brightness (depends if I'm inside or outside)

I disabled that along with most of these things and couldn't get more than 20 hrs from the 42mm classic. I'm returning it and getting the 46mm, even though I like the smaller size. The watch 4 got less than half the battery life of the 3 if I used everything I had been on the 3.

@@DrMIS1 sadly yes, but, i cant change mine lmao. Anyways the stock band u get would fit me very badly with 46mm so 42 is just a better fit idk

1 thing I forgot when I received my gw4 is to charge it first before turned it on. My watch shocked me... when its installing and said battery only 5%. Omg...

In newest uodate there is no longer option as two finger shortcut. I stead, you can use tripple home button shortcut to setup a greay scale. All you need is to presetup grey scale in the color correction setting
