But sure, the resolution is a bit meaningless because the pixels are still gonna be a bit big because they decided to place the displays a lot closer to the eyes, affecting that pixels per degree spec, like the definition Apple gave for their “retina” spec, and that’s what not that great about the Vision Pro

Why do people keep saying it's no 4k? People have TWO eyes, those TWO screens combined into a single view are higher than 4k. Our view field is split into 3, a third either side you can see with each eye and a third in the middle that both eyes see. Multiply the horizontal resolution by 1.5 and you get the effective resolution of the device, HIGHER THAN 4K.

10 wasn't good, you just got used to a bad OS, It's a bloated resource hog with forced updates that have led to countless hours of lost work and productivity, and is where they started forcing MS accounts on us. The Start menu in 11 may suck and so does the new context menu that we all disable but under the hood it's a massive improvement on 10. 11 pro with a local account and a few modifications to turn off telemetry, forced auto updates, revert the context menu and start menu to windows 7 style is the closest thing to a modern windows 7 we can get.

Microsoft did not make a sale for me with Windows 11. I would've had to buy a new computer just to install it, and I still haven't heard one feature that would be worth the cost of a new computer. I don't think I want my operating system to have AI fully integrated in it. I keep a journal on my computer, and I definitely don't want AI reading it, sharing it, and supposedly gaining insights from it. I definitely don't want such insights tied to a Microsoft account, and I don't have to use one of those in Windows 10. When this computer dies, I will not be buying a new PC. I will be buying something else that I trust more, probably a MacBook Air. I'm comfortable in Linux, but I like the accessibility support in Apple better.

Currently I upscale my 1080 desktop to 1440 using Nvidia DSR, and it does indeed upscale many old games. It's not perfect, if you look closely at certain letters they look reeeeeeeaaally weird but overall its a more pleasing image for me.

I'm curious if ZLUDA will run on older AMD GPUs like the RX 480 I have or will it be limited to RDNA cards like HIP is? Considering CUDA has been around longer, I'm hoping the former. It always bothered me that Blender chose to take out OpenCL support since 3.0. Sure, in fairness, they had to in order to update their Cycles renderer, but at the cost of GPU acceleration on such a wider number of GPUs never sat well, especially when you consider they still support CUDA, which works on older cards than OptiX does, and as long as I'm stuck with older hardware, I'm stuck with no acceleration unless I use an older version of Blender. Of course, I can also use Radeon ProRender instead as it does support GPU acceleration on the RX 480, and I can get decent renders on it. The downside is that the shader pipeline for ProRender is different than with Cycles and can require reworking materials when switching from one renderer to another, so it's not as seamless as switching between Eevee and Cycles, naturally as those are both Blender's own engines. Update: I ran ZLUDA with Blender 3.5 and it doesn't appear to work. It will start up and my GPU does show up as a CUDA device, but attempting to render even the default cube causes it to just get stuck on compiling. Blender doesn't hang however, as the GUI still responds, and the render can be canceled, but then it gets stuck on canceling. It's likely ZLUDA won't work on a non-RDNA Radeon GPU, at least not in its current state. This is kinda dissapointing as, if I did have an RDNA card, why would I want to use ZLUDA over HIP?
