Thank you so much for this thorough review and comparison to a previous version! I have had a Yale Linus lock 1st gen for two years now. I have a two-storey house and two kids; no one ever remembered locking the door. Auto-lock and auto-unlock features are fantastic! What's not so great is a fiddly battery replacement (once a year) and the sluggish unlock speed. After this review, I'll be ordering a new version, as both problems seem to be resolved. This channel deserves many more subscribers, so I'm happy to join your community. Thanks again!

Don't forget the Matter over Thread support that is coming in a firmware update later this year! Then Apple Homekit will also be supported again! This is a big reason to buy the L2!

Thanks for a great review, one small question, can you get the notification from the doorbell on multiple phones, like mine and my wife ?
@Omar-kw5ui2 ай бұрын
Great video! Really interesting products. I wonder why no other reviewers compare the doorbell to others on the market like the nest and ring options. It would have been great if you showed the picture quality at night time and how far you can make out a face. I noticed there is no face detection or am I wrong? I am assuming it can't automatically unlock the door as you approach or you would have probably talked about it. Given both products are from Yale, I would expect that they would work together a little better.

A question, so the knob case inside of the room, doesn't need to be stick to the surface of the door or screwed to the door? Displayed by your video, it can be installed by mounted directly onto the lock cylinder itself(if the cylinder length is adjustable)?

I still have the first generation. I don't mind the bridge.. still worthy to upgrade ? I see its more silent, smooth and has the rechargable battery. But paying another fortune for a new lock...

not really unless you want it less noisy and a rechargable battery

I can see many negative comments regarding the wifi connection and homekit issues from a few months ago. Can anyone give me some update on this? Is there still wifi problem? I am planning to buy one and use it with my alexa devices but will not invest ca 250€ if it is not stable any reliable. Thanks!

It takes a long time to connect to the lock when I am outside. Sometimes it exceeds 1 minute. The lock is close to the modem, the wifi signal quality seems strong. What could be the reason for this?

How do we get these locks in the USA? Yale doesn't seem to sell them here. This lock will fit my doors, which have European style locks.

Don’t buy this lock if you want to use the WiFi module. I’ve been waiting for the Yale support to give me a solution because my lock L2 can’t connect to any WiFi network. This lock also doesn’t support apple HomeKit.

YALE need to improve the WiFi 🛜 element. Doesn’t always work. If they invested in this they would run this digital lock market. Very annoying that it’s not always reliable.
