Was waiting for this one. Great breakdown. Beyond Creation and Ne Obliviscaris are absolute masters of their instruments and composition. Would love to see more reactions to both.

Definitly my 2 favorite bands

The melodies paired with the technicality of this song give it such a unique feel.

Oh shit, it's tech death week! Been waiting for it for ages, lol. Prob my favorite metal genre. And I already missed the first video featuring AB, currently one of my favorite bands! As for this track, it was my most played for the year according to Spotify a few years ago. Amazing stuff. And great analysis as always Brian

Nice! Adding another band to my playlist. I could listen to this all day.

Somehow it's catchy despite being overhwelmingly technical and dense. It's compelling for sure.

You've got to check out Virvum's album Illuminance. It's one of the best Tech Death albums ever imo. A hidden gem not alot of people know of.

The AMAZING bass playing on those first 2 albums were done by Dom Forest🤘

I've never been insanely into tech death, but this song is honestly one of my favourite of all time. Sucks me in completely with both the atmosphere and solos. That slide toward the back of the bass solo at the end is one of my favourite singular "moments" in music, shit makes me laugh out LOUD every time I hear it because it's so fucking cool. Holy shit I love this song lmao. Seeing them with Ne Obliviscaris was one of the sickest gigs of my life, and a super exciting "first metal gig" that I got to take some buddies to.

This one is as much prog metal as tech death really.

Really hope you check out Fallujah this week. Probably my favorite tech death band these days. They just released a remaster of the song Sapphire. Would be a good starting point.

This song is really soft and tasteful for technical death metal, I always liked it! Nice to see you do a reaction to this, the whole album was a very pleasant listen if I remember well. If you're doing tech death now, it'd be nice if you did something by First Fragment, those guys are really something, like for example the song Le Serment de Tsion. Other than that I recommend The Kaleidoscopic God by Scar Symmetry

Saw this piece live last year (Lima - Peru)... this guys are OUTSTANDING! Their live sound and perfomance are even better than the studio version!!!

Bryan, you mentioned that you like progressive doom metal with clean vocals.. Then you NEED to react to 'Condemned' by Confessor at some point; one of the most unique bands ever, especially the drumming is off the charts.

I don't perceive them as doomy - but it would explain why I like them so much ;-)... Earthborn Evolution always seemed to be the show-off song of the album. Every instrument gets it's solo(s). My personal favorite song is Coexistence (or L'exorde, but it's a bit short...)

I would say progressive death metal. Love this band, they don't get enough attention. Great analysis.

It's not death doom (that would be Hooded Menace, etc.) - it's still tech death metal but more in a ballad/slow style. Lots of tech metal bands do this to give their listeners a break from all the intensity.

I guess I'm weird, when I feel in a tech death mood, I want my tech death to be pure constant bombarding chaotic attack. Idk, this outer chaos kinda sucks out my own inner chaos so I can concentrate better (I have ADHD). And bands like Beyond Creation... water it down too much for me? These sections feel more like progressive death rather than tech death. The fact it is more dynamic in tempo makes me distracted when the faster pacing hits (plus in the non-chaotic sections this lack of chaos is in a counter to what I described upper about ADHD) But then I have a separate mood for prog death where I can really enjoy Opeth. And no in between for whatever reason lmao

Is it just me, or is the video totally biting off of BTBAM's Astral Body video? Either way, unreal song

I can get past the vocals here, as they have variety and improve on what would otherwise be incredible instrumental work. I Suppose I prefer any vocals to no vocals, but the music is phenomenal!!!
