Technical Certification for Sales Engineers | Needed or a Waste of Time?

what would you do if you are already a top performing cloud sales rep (at one of the FAANG companies), but have no technical experience, but want to move to a Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect role? would you recommend getting some sort of technical jobs (such as an IT technician, web developer, sys admin) first before trying to become an SE or SA?

Theres a bootcamp at careerist for SE you could look into. I would def express interest to your company though, youre ahead of alot of others without xp

Is a sales engineer and SBR the same thing ?

I haven’t heard of the acronym SBR before.

Not sure if you mean SDR which stand for Sales Development Representative. If that is the case, then no, SDRs are very different from Sales Engineers. SDRs cold call and set appointments for sales teams to work with the customers. Also, I did a quick search on SBR, and it seems there's a company called SBR which offers consulting to increase sales.
