Thanks a lot for this extremely well-done and helpful review of some of Stipula’s different in-house nibs and feeds. Stipula pens are very close to my heart. I love the pens dearly. I have seven of them, including the same gorgeous green celluloid one you showed here. I never knew of the ABS feeds. So this was really interesting to see. All my Stipulas have ebonite feeds. And most come with the superb in-house Stiflex gold nibs. I really think I must try an EF sometime. And I’ve always greatly preferred Bock over Jowo. So the special Bock nib on a Stipula would be very fun to own and use.

Thank you for another in-depth review of the nibs of these very beautiful pens, Stefano. I believe this video is the only video that has showcased Stipula’s various in-house nibs. As Stipula does not stamp their nibs as Stiflex, other than the nib width on the nib collar, your video has given me the confidence of applying pressure / flexing my Gran Sasso with a 14k EF that is more of a “semi-flex”; as opposed to another Stipula-made 14k Fine with an ebonite from Novelli that is very flexible and a “wet noodle”.

My dear, if I have been helpful and sufficiently clear it’s the best reward for me. Thanks!!!

This is so helpful. You make is so clear that different feeds and nibs are best for specific writing goals. The most expensive may not be the best for one’s purposes. In other words, there is more to the story than simply most expensive is better. Thank you.

That’s right Ben, writing and nibs have nothing to do with price or better to say the best is what you feel up to your taste and goals.

Well, it depends on the need ;^) If you need to do something specific with your fountain pen, better is what better suits your work. If you need to show off, well, then expensive is better 😬

VERY PRETTY pens! Loved your video! BTW. Neither JoWo, nor Bock are English names. The pronunciation of the J in Jobo is like in Italian io and the O in Bock is like Italian in bocca.

Thank you Maximilian, I’ve tried many times to establish the pronunciation but nobody up till now has ever given me a proper explanation! Thanks!!🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@stilographcorsani4600 Both words originated in Germany. The word Bock could mean ram, pedestal, support (vaulting) horse, and has even more meanings ... I do not want to bore you. Jowo (OH I did write it wrongly up there, sorry for my misspelling) the owners write it JoWo so I suppose it is some kind of "constructed" word ... I hope I did not come patronizing it wasn't my intention! I wish you a nice week!

So like Bow-k? Interesting. I prefer Bock nibs over JoWo :) I have stopped buying pens with JoWo nibs because they are all the same. I like the in-house nibs, but I just hope they won't do what the watch manufactures did when they started promoting in-house movements and jacked up the prices.
