As far as I'm aware, Krishna is an incarnation of Vishnu, who (in the version of Hinduism I follow) is in turn an incarnate of shiva. There are many different interpretations of Hinduism though and some see Vishnu as the main creator, others shiva. One of the logical reasons to choose shiva imo is vedic math which instead of 10 uses 9 as its base. It also as numbers together similar to numerology though it is a mathematical system for work. 9 and 0 share space. They are the same number in a way. If you draw a circle and number 1 to 9 on it. Now continue around the circle counting up. 10 will be above 1, 11 above two and so on. 11 is 1+1=2, 11 was above 2. And so on this goes for infinity, the corresponding number will always add up to its place on the circle. So... Still with me? 1 equals Brahma, shiva told him he would never be a god. 0 is 9 so zero is shiva, Vishnu is represented by the number 8, shiva told him he was on his way to being a god. 1+0+8=9. Brahma is particles, Vishnu is the wave. Shiva is whatever that is made of. And that's how Hinduism fits with quantum physics! :)

As I summarised from those scriptures. Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva(Shankar or Rudra), are three main gods of our universe... There are many universes, and having many Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh/Shiv. So the God who is above all these universes and three gods is Sadashiv as per Shiv puran, Mahavishnu as per VishnuPuran, Kali as per Kali rahasya, and Krishna as per Brahma vaivarta and Shrimad Bhagavad. Now manywhere it is also mentioned that there is no difference between Shakti/Kali and Sadashiv, as they are Husband wife, also many mentions that One is Fool who thinks that Mahavishnu and Sadashiv are different... Almost all Scripture says tat you can worship any God you want, as they lead to the same God. . Brahma is of Rajas quality, Vishnu is of Sat Quality and Shiv of Tamas quality. The main God Shiv/Sadashiv/Mahavishnu/Kali/Shakti/Ganesh/... has quality of Joyfulness. . Krishna himself in Bhagwad Gita says that "He appears to one person in the form he is having faith"..
