I would like to clarify you one more thing that We can call to any network From VoLTE for example - Airtel, aircel,idea,vodafone even to any PSTN number and you have mentioned wrong that the other party must also have a handset with VoLTE support ... only in case of video calling we need a compatible device

For VOLTE calls, both parties should have a compatible handsets with volte service enabled, if party A has a volte service but party doesn't have it than a normal call will be considered

Good explanation but we can use both data and volte service together too, its a feature which needs to be enabled by service provider. Both Volte call and any data session can be run same time as per 3GPP standards..

As You said data disconnects and immediately restores as you hang up the call. There is no delay in Volte. But the thing is data never disconnects in Volte. You can have a call going in background and browse the net at the same time.

Yes because here in USA & Canada, our CDMA/LTE phones are losing calling/texting because CDMA is obsolete. LTE + VoLTE enables 4G data/calling/texting.

we can also knw phone having volte or not. by dialing *#*#4636#*#* go to phone info if u find " turn volte flag"(something like that) then u have volte in ur phone
