You should think about doing a guide sometime on how to utilize mobs against each other. I’m sure it’s been done, but you’re such a master at it, and it’s always nice to have another take. Plus, you're SO good at explaining things. You have a nice string of examples here in the mountain: 3:43:21, 3:45:15-3:46:30, 3:49:47, 3:51:58. And on the plus side, you wouldn’t even have to cut out the commentary to add voiceover! #oopsimutedmyselfagain 🤭 3:49:54 I saw you skip the drake trophy and said, NOOOO, but ofc, I knew what you didn’t know at the time, lol. 5:29:35-5:30:07 (where's the singing??) Lately, trolls have seemed super weird to me also. Spinning around and swinging at something behind them…killed me on one of my recent runs. ☹ Congratulations on the Technically World Record. 😁👏

@@bobbydigital86 This and other exceedingly long speedruns I tend to record locally, edit a little bit, and upload later. I do stream on this channel though! Did one two or three days ago! Check out the 'Live' tab on my channel page! I've preserved the live chat on all of the streams so you can get a sense of what the streams are like. I don't have a regular streaming schedule but tend to publish upcoming streams on KZbin several hours in advance so subs know they're coming. I also just launched a discord channel, link in description, where you can get ping notifications of upcoming live streams. If you have questions about recorded and uploaded runs like this one, timestamps in a KZbin comment with the question help me out a lot when answering

I've watched at least 5 of these now. Do you have a spreadsheet put together? It seems like when you start, you should already know, I need X leather, X flint, X copper, X tin, X iron, X onion seeds, X portals, X boats, etc. It seems like you could cut hours off of your time by anticipating everything you need from the start. You seem to have the early game nailed, but after that (post Elder) still seems that you are randomly deciding things on the fly.

Lox cape, silver sword, root armor, etc. Those should already be decided if they're worth the effort or not. Haldor is obviously a random, so you can't count on that. But then that becomes a pivot if/when you find him.

hey man, i wanted to ask, why do you always take your time with the barnacles mining on the leviathan? I always feel its a total race against time from the moment i touch pick first swing, is there a hidden tactic there?

The race doesn't begin until the Levi makes noise for the first time and I like to have a full stamina bar when that happens. From the wiki: Each time a barnacle is hit, there is a 10% chance that the leviathan will be disturbed (indicated by it shaking and emitting noise). Once 20 seconds have passed after it is first disturbed, it will begin permanently submerging into the ocean (accompanied by much more shaking and noises). During those 20 seconds, further hits still have a 10% chance to trigger additional shaking.

Is it cheating to use an almanac? Aka there is a website that will tell you the weather at any given time so you can prep/plan your boating

@@sandmaster4444 I'm aware of its existence but have never used it during a run. It hasn't been discussed but my inclination would be to say that it is very much not cheating. The rules don't forbid it. It's static and ubiquitous. It's memorizable. You could theoretically copy all of it down with pen and paper before a run starts. A person could NOT, even theoretically, copy every possible world map down with p&p, etc etc, therefore using the seed viewer is very much 1000% cheating. (also, obviously, it's expressly forbidden in the rules) I do sometimes pine for knowing what tomorrow's weather will be, but I feel like for every instance where it allows me to properly plan ahead there will be an instance where knowing indicates I should wait, when in reality I should probably just GO GO GO! Sucks if I'm paddling, sucks if it's a blizzard, them's the breaks, GO GO GO! All that said, I have a few tidbits memorized and I respond accordingly frequently

Eh, because it's a 15-hour run and I beat the existing record, which I already hold, by less than 20 minutes and i'm probably not going to submit it to the leaderboard. There's probably a better word/phrase I could use but I don't wanna take up a million characters in the title. It's kinda like reverse clickbait for this particular video. I wouldn't want people to stop watching my last one to watch this one, as it's not incredibly groundbreaking time-wise in comparison, and I don't wanna lie/exaggerate about that. It's possible in my next run I might smash the record by like an hour or something and then I'll be all like "INSANE MINDBLOWING WORLD RECORD!!@!!1 Quit your job and watch this!!!" and longtime followers of the channel will know they can believe that and that they should actually quit their jobs. ;D

I would love to have boss split timer on overlay if there's way to setup segment splits timing some way. Boss order still varying because rng with runestones to find them as well as different strategies towards e.g. Yagluth and Bonemass.

You said most of it yourself: given the inherent randomness, splits don't transfer in any meaningful way from run to run, so they're not really informative in any way. Sometimes I'll have a portal at Yag and not fight him for several hours and other times I'll fight him as soon as I arrive. Is it that you just wanna watch the boss fights?
