Sometimes during a game of 3 cushion billiards, we are left with difficult positions like the ones we will see below, and that can be the result of our opponent's defensive play.
In this video we present a technique that will help us to execute this type of caroms with a greater probability of success.
As the video progresses, we will see variations of the ball hit and the effect.
At the end we will see a preview of our next system: “Pass Ball Counter Effect”.
Do not miss it!
Next we present the base position of this technique, later we will see the variations of the ball hit and effect.
This technique has 4 characteristics:
First: Effect 2 high is used. This is the base effect.
Second: The cue must be flat, parallel to the playing surface.
Third: Backward grip is used. This helps us to make the tip of the cue go up during the stroke. Execution known as "up stroke"
Fourth: Penetrated and advanced stroke.
The screen shows the 3 main hand grips:
In normal hand grip, when the tip of the cue is close to ball one, the forearm of the hand gripping the cue should be perpendicular to the ground.
In forward hand grip, when the tip of the cue is close to ball one, the forearm of the hand gripping the cue should be bent forward.
In the backward hand grip, when the tip of the cue is close to ball one, the forearm of the hand holding the cue should be tilted back.
The backward hand grip favors the performance of the execution and in this case the repetition of the cushion.
In this example of the base position, ball one is on the rail, and perhaps our best alternative is to play the short rail repetition.
Let's see now what happens when we vary the effect.
First: The short cushion repetition occurs later.
Second: The arrival on the fourth rail is delayed, half a diamond for each additional effect compared to effect 2, which is the base effect.
In this case, when playing with maximum spin, after repeating the short rail, the ball goes to the first diamond on the long rail, as shown in the image.
Now let's see how to adjust the ball hit, according to the position of ball 2.
For the ball hit, we use the 12-part technique, which we will call points for ease.
As ball 2 moves away from the base position, for every half diamond, we must decrease the ball hit by one point.
In this case, ball 2 has moved 1 diamond away from the base position, therefore, the ball hit is decreased by 2 points.
In this case, ball 2 has moved 2 diamonds away from the base position, and therefore, we must decrease the ball hit by 4 points.
The ball hit of the base position is 10 points, when decreasing it by 4 points, the new ball hit will be 6 points.
So these types of positions must be played by hitting half a ball.
When balls 1 and 2 are not facing each other. For each inclination diamond, we must modify the ball hit by one point.
In this case the ball hit increases from 10 points to 11 points.
When balls 1 and 2 are not facing each other. For each inclination diamond, we must modify the ball hit by one point.
In this case the ball hit decreases from 10 points to 9 points.
