You just made me realize that painting large monster creatures can be as easy. Im always too intimidated but dang, those fell beasts came out looking great
@SwordsandBrushes2 жыл бұрын
Oh thats great to hear :) Yeh sometimes they can be intimidating, but just working on one bit at a time i find is great because it seems like a few smaller tasks rather than one big one! Thats what the channel is all about, i try to break things down in the videos as well as experimenting with a few methods along the way :):

@@SwordsandBrushes I have the metallic miniature. I'll use the first technique but I'll try a slightly darker or desaturated color scheme. @george_a79 Жыл бұрын
Amazing, you just gave me how too, having almost the same idea, a bit more greyish to be honest was my initial thought, but wasn't sure how to approach this. Also, I noticed a small wrong entry, in the begging you mention that the dry brushing is done with "Mocca skin", which I tried to find the color on AP's site and doesn't exist. By the look of it looks more to Kobold Skin to me. Not sure exactly, can you help on which color you are using there indeed ? Also, I'm using also AP's colors, and man you are the FIRST content creator that I met that he's using AP instead of GW colors, but also you tried to match those with GW for those who don't have. Brilliant. Thanks again and now thanks to you know how to “treat” my Middle Earth armies. Keep it up !!!
@SwordsandBrushes Жыл бұрын
Glad that the video help give you inspiration for yours :) Mocca skin is in the Army painter skin tones set. Its a dark brown which is similar to Rhinox hide by Games Workshop. And that made a good base for the following colours :) Ah thank you, i used GW paints for many years until i discovered Army painter, and i enjoy using the brand quite a lot! :)

It's good stuff, i'm still new to it - maybe had it about a year? The only downside is that it clogs sometimes, so just need a paperclip - BUT using a slightly damp brush it goes on the model well to fill gaps that little bit easier. I love trying things out and experimenting with different methods - maybe one day i will try finger painting a mini and see how that goes haha

Can you use a lighter brown instead of the oak brown or will it not blend into the black?
@SwordsandBrushes Жыл бұрын
You can indeed, just be careful with how heavy you go on, you want to get a dark to light transition - but you could just use the darker brown as an inbetween and start turning the wing browner slightly before you use your main colour of your lighter brown :)

@SwordsandBrushes11 күн бұрын
Aye they changed it which is really annoying, If you start off with a dark brown - something like Rhinox Hide by Games Workshop or perhaps the new 'Banshee Brown' from the John Blanche set by army painter, that will work perfectly :) *NOTE* It will need to be the NEW Banshee Brown which looks like it will be a dark brown, rather the the older Banshee Brown which was a cream coloured brown. It's really annoying that they keep the same name of paint but have a totally different colour! Hope that helps and happy Nazgul painting :):)
