Another excellent lesson, thank you very much! I'm going to be looking a lot more closely at making stronger "S" curve lines of action, and stronger contraposto with my own drawings. Also I would love to see some lessons about basic coloring and shading. Shading especially always seems difficult for me. Thank you again for all your efforts, they are much appreciated!
Thank you for the amazing video and for the subtitles If I may ask what exercices one must do to get a clean line like yours? Hide I love your videos thank you so much for teaching us

I can help! If you have a loose leaf paper with horizontal lines, try practicing tracing those lines with a pen. You can start slow before you speed up, but 1) use your entire arm to draw, not your wrist, and 2) try to trace as close to the line as possible without falling off. Make sure you're not zigzaging as you draw. Just draw left to right and right to left. Feel free to turn the paper and practice drawing up and drawing down. It's actually hard, even for a pro, but you _will_ improve in time. Once you have your straight lines down, practice drawing sound wavesーas in, practice drawing curves inside each row of the paper that have the same width and consistency in a single continuous line. Vary the width and height of each row you draw, but again, use your whole arm. Once you feel confident with that, draw rows of perfect circles over and over using the same rules. Your lines will improve drastically if you just do these drills a few times a day for a whole week or so. As a bonus, if you are interested in learning Japanese, try looking up how to write Japanese characters. Start with hiragana and katakana, then move onto kanji. Find a template to practice writing individual characters (it will look like a bunch of boxes split into fours by a cross to help you center the character). Look up stroke order and practice each character over and over. My personal theory is that a lot of asian artists got good at calculating lines because they practiced writing their language from a young age. It works like the drills I mentioned above, and you get to practice both Japanese AND drawing lines at the same time! Feel free to ask me questions if you're confused. Enjoy practicing! ^^

I agree with Juno...it's a warm up I always do every day.. I start with circles then I draw cubes and cylinders. After that I draw lines vertically and horizontally as if I am making a grid..reason for this is to see if you make any perfect squares since that means your lines were straight. Then I will do curves as close as I can to each other. I also draw ribbons to practice thinking in 3d and lastly I do quick 1 minute gestures..this usually takes me about 15-20 minutes each day before I draw or practice what I'm learning that day. Hope that helps as well c:

As a less experienced artist, I'd only see the lack of weight in the character. As a viewer of that art, what caught my eyes was the coat. However, her still and static posure was missing that "omph". It lacked energy. With the changes made, I already get a gist of how her character might be. And now knowing you're an animator, has me realize that your experience must have grown after carefully getting everything right with size and design of eahc picture/drawing. It's a difficult job, so I've been afraid to try. My bestest works have only been of animated blobs and slime for my reason of inconsistency. I adore your quickly made artwork! Question! - How would you draw said character to look "alive". As if they could move at that very moment, if animated. Could you draw it as it'd naturally be moving in a different frame, by having the art piece looking like one frame on one animation? Basically, tricking us that; "Nope, this is an art piece and not a frame taken from an animation!" Some animations looks amazing, because they have that natural feel to them most of the time. I have a hard time explaining my thoughts exactly, so take it with a grain of salt if you read this with much confusion! Awesome video of illustration technique for attractivness! Have a great day!
