It's time for another dawless techno jam.
Just pulled in the Arturia Microfreak Stellar. Funky little guy that one. I love the sequencing capabilities, and I knew I had to try it out in a full jam.

Thanks! And yes, I have the global bpm setting turned on for the drumbrute so that doing live sets is more cohesive

the arp at the beginning is nice, especially with the reverb... I like the modular infuses jams you do 👌 I'm contemplating on diving into modular, the minibrute 2s being the gateway drug... Just a little bit afraid of being sucked in, or being blown of with the possibilities/complexity.

I got the Minibrute 2S and then decided that I wanted some extra versatility, so I decided to get the Rackbrute. I think a lot of people look at their modular rack and think "how can I fill all of this empty space?", and then you end up with a rack that is too busy. What made my modular rack so usable however, is that I was building it as if it were a natural extension of my Minibrute. Only after a few years do I have a rack that can really perform on its own.

Thanks! I walked into my local guitar center and just asked them for a cool stand I could put a synthesizer on, and they pointed out that one. I think you can find it if you search "adjustable dj laptop stand"

Music is so cool, I'm a beginner who learns from watching your KZbin, what machine is set in this music that sounds like ambient rhythm other than bass beat? I have minibrute2s

Here the minibrute is just taking care of the bass, and I have two more voices coming from the microfreak and a regular eurorack oscillator

This set I'm using an ornament and crime, temps utile, switch 4, a basic vcf, plaits, veils, clouds, 2hp verb, and a cockpit 2

Maybe a silly question, but how does the 2s interact with your Eurorack set up?

It's hard to explain all of the ins and outs, but since the Minibrute has a 'eurorack standard' patch bay, I can send any signals from my Eurorack synth to the Minibrute, and vice versa. For example, in this setup I'm using the Minibrute to sequence my Eurorack synth, and I'm using Eurorack utilities (like a clock divider, and switches to control gate signals) to help me get more out of the 2S.

It really depends on the purpose of your setup, and what type of music you're making. Effects are something that are often overlooked, but crucial to bringing together a performance. If you're just recording into a DAW, a fully analog synth can bring unparalleled character into your music. If you want to stick with the Arturia line (like I have), the Minibrute 2S has been amazing for me.

Yep, I am also ducking the rest of the synths on every quarter note so the kick drum is more pronounced

@TC-lk2ev Yep! My main mixing / output module is the endorphin.es cockpit 2, and it has a sidechain input with a built-in envelope generator
