This is a huge time saver I frequently share with colleagues and teachers when training. Another function I've use a ton, is creating these type of buttons to link to a template or documents "/copy" url to Instantly create a new copy. One usecase of this is my weekly planning format, where I have a single click to create a new weekly planning.

Thanks for that. I am now using technique, I was however looking for a button to insert in a doc to clean up the look of the page. I can never be too organised. I can use all the help I can get in that area. Your video did that.

I use a Google Chrome Extension called Google Docs Quick Create that I got from the Chrome Web Store. It has an icon on my Bookmarks bar. When I click on it, it gives me the option to create a new Doc, Sheet, Slide, or Drawing. I can open the extension from any web page. It works like a charm for me. I also have icons for Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides displayed on my bottom shelf. I used them as much as the extension. Thanks for your video.

You can reduce it another step and avoid the need to open a new tab before clicking the bookmark button. You can edit the bookmark to automatically open a new tab. 1. Right-click the button and choose edit 2. Change the URL address to: javascript:window.open(`YourUrlHere`); (This approach seems to change the icon though.) Another way to automatically open in a new tab with a single click is to use the middle mouse button. i.e. click the mouse wheel.

...or you could just click the Apps button and then choose Docs/Sheets/etc... - That's also "only 2 clicks!" :)

I use both Windows and Mac computers. What browser, though, do you use? Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc.?
