The Garmin ORT 1000 is similar but not exactly identical, however the process to fix the screen is about the same.

The video is very helpful. I have been looking to find a replacement screen for the Garmin RV 1095. I haven't seen them on ebay or amazon. Do you know where someone can find a replacement screen?

Try Aliexpress.com and don't use the model number of the laptop to search for the screen, instead use the model number of the actual screen which is printed on the back of the LCD. Keep in mind that the same exact model of screen could be used in multiple devices. For example the screen on some ATM machines are the same as some small Laptop Computers.

You could spread a little clear silicon in the edge. I would use a thin coat to keep it from oozing out.

I would like to see you re-pin a power plug, changing a plug from one battery to another.

The easiest way is to cut the wires one at a time, solder the cables, and use a very thin heat shrink to cover the soldering. The professional way is to cut the plastic wrapping at the battery terminals, resolder it, and put tape over it.
