Some (if not most) of the Note 7s exploded at room temperature, so heating it so much that it gets a temperature warning and till it's hot to the touch isn't the best way to find why the phones are exploding. It's almost as if you deliberately wanted the phone to explode for all the wrong reasons, related to the story behind the phone.

The issue as far as I'm aware was linked to a defective batch of batteries,unfortunately the bad publicity drove them to discontinue the phone even though it's probably a perfectly solid phone for most people. Hopefully they'll re-launch it next year under a different name,perhaps with a flat screen and bevel just to make it look totally different (plus I prefer a bevel since it protects the screen and also makes it easier to get a case for the phone than a curved screen)
