Having a little bit more micro details doesn't mean a better pair to me. The zex is definitely more high res, but the blons are warm, having wider soundstage and less bloated bass. To my ears, blons are ahead, that also by a big margin. Everything sounds so soothing and open.

Nice one, was looking forward to this comparison. I had the Blon and now the Zex with the CCA tips (mine came with those and not the conical ones) and hated the Zex first because the bass was much milder than the Blon but I'm pretty happy with them after the mental burn in. I use it pretty much exclusively for gaming though. My Galaxy Buds+ are too convenient for everything else.

@@lifeandjeevan not going to be a significant difference. Blons might sound a little warmer that's all. The Zex are very sensitive and I'm unable to use them currently as my laptop is generating electrical noise in the left earpiece so would avoid unless you have a good source.

Anyways...so first up these sound absolutely great! The clarity and the bass. But..but..but... there's a flip side. It's treble sometimes is very high and it can hurt your ears at 100% volume (such high volume is not recommended btw).. It's absolutely a great piece considering the price is 1200-1400 range. Go for it...you won't regret...provided you have a good phone and this is the sound signature you are looking for....bass high, clarity high, good mids and average soundstage. Overall great!

I really doubt it's the "extra drivers" that are doing anything, considering it just came out most of KZ's lineup only have those for pretty much decorative purposes, ranging from extremely inaudible frequencies, to straight up being blocked off by glue. You're pretty much only hearing the single dynamic driver in all cases.

I did read about that in the CRN version, though I am not sure if this applies to other models too. The zex and NRA are more detailed than all other IEMs that I tested, if they've achieved this without the electrostatic driver, then that would really be something. In any case, I don't pay attention to the number of drivers/tech etc., i just pay attention to the final sound quality, so just in the improbable case the electrostatic driver is a fake, you're still getting the best sounding IEM from the comparison.

@@koustuvkanungo9873 i have kz edx pro and the zex, the edx pro , having one dynamic driver, tries to fake BA type treble and ends up being harsh and muffling all the details in the high end as a plastic sounding synth clap. but in case of zex, it can produce all the instruments separately , make the imaging and the soundstage pretty well and wide without being harsh or peaky, and also it reaches 19.5khz of audible treble. i agree the est driver does not produce same sound as dd does, but this is same with any IEM u use. its for making the sound better, not louder or something.
