My iRobot 630 is still working - 2007 vintage. It won't dock anymore, and must be plugged it, and the side brush won't stay attached. But after being used in 3 houses over more than 15 years, I'm pleased with my purchase. I used to have the timer start it on Thursday afternoon so when I got home from work I'd hear it running and that was my reminder to take out the trash for the morning.

Hahaha that's a cool and unusual idea for a birthday party , have everyone you know that has a robotic vacuum bring it to your house or wherever the party is then set them off all at once and to make sure that everyone knows what robot belongs to them put the owner name on masking tape and put it on the top of the robot 😁😃

I'm a sucker for gadgets lol. I have to admit, my wife is really not. Which is why she was so against us buying a robot vacuum for the house. As much as i don't like seeing people destroy stuff that could be repaired, it still has the positive side effect that i don't worry about my bot getting damaged in case it's tipping over a folding chair that's leaned against the wall. These bots seem so be more durable than expected.

I have a suggestion for that next time you do this you should put it in one of those like lawn spreader, things you know you put seed in you should put all the rice in there and then go around the house with all the rice in with the lawn spreader or seed spreader, and spread the rice everywhere in the house Yeah that should be fun. Make your job a lot easier.

Sharks do not empty the bin when full so it would of been pointless to use. ONLY the roombas can do that as of now.

Love this. Two things 1. There is no one doing any kind of troubleshooting or repair type videos for robot vacuums. Do you think as hardware break down, need maintenance or software issues you could make videos with that. The advantage being that you have so many and experience using them all and 2. Yes that could be good ideas for videos...I did but then got another one and kept ever since.

Amazon has repair kits (knock offs). I replaced the brushes, the spinner motor (plastic gears in OEM motor), filter, wheels etc. Made a big difference in sound level and cleaning performance. Very simple to replace all the wear parts. Cheaper than a new one!

Question 3. You mentioned that roomba was one of your favorite vacuums. Hypothetically If other vacuums could have a bin full sensor (if roomba didn’t own rights to it), would you still feel the same way about the roomba.

@Corey I own both and I like them Both. I got the q5+ but my house is older and has w/w carpeting. The roomba is nice but doesn’t get all the pet hair and cat litter. Oh I also have 7 cats and a bird and a husband. Anyways, I can’t decide between the two which I like more. Also kind of feel like maybe I should have gone with the roborock s7+, but I don’t care about mopping just the high pa suction power. I didn’t feel like paying more for a feature I don’t intend on using. Ugh. What do you think?

@Corey I "upgraded" from a Roomba to the Roborock S7 that mops - Roomba is much better vac. The Roborock had a good idea, but the mop pad won't stay attached and it flips over the edges of scatter rugs and chokes on them, which the Roomba has no problem with. I waited quite a while for the Roborock S7 Ultra to be released, now I wish I hadn't spent $1500 on it.
