Holy…Luke’s desk is crazy good. Amazing work 😮 Why do I love Setup Wars? Even prior to the pandemic, this was a little hobby of mine, but when everything went down and we all started working from home, that hobby became an obsession. So much time is spent in this space with work and play, I had to make my space the best it could be. I loved tuning in to see what everybody else was doing with their setups, and some folks' creativity is off the charts. To this day, I still find joy and inspiration in the show, and hope to see it continue for many more episodes

You get to see so many different setups, so many different approaches, so many ideas to do ur own setup with. I fell in love with this channel back in 2018, so i could plan my setup build when i could move to my own place, 3 long years later i did fulfill my dream of having my own setup. Im still learning new tips&tricks from techsource and from his amaizing discord community

Then after some year Covid happen and was playing games with friends, just looking at my PC setup gives me that satisfaction of what i had also achieve and checking this channel often gives me idea to improve more of the current setup. Just looking back with my current setup is what i wish when i was still a kid and want that gaming/work setup.

Not a sob story just answering why i watch.....It tool me till about 8 years ago. I am 38. To get my first gaming PC. I am disabled now as i was a firemen and Emt. Over the years i have been able with the help of my wife to build my own game room. I deal with chronic severe pain. Started watching your show years ago when i battled at my worst. And still do to this day. your setup wars gave me peace man. That's why i still watch till this day. a lot of tough things happened over the years. And these shows help bring me some peace and smiles. Seems small. But sometimes the small distractions are enough to quite the chaos. Thank you!

Why I love watching Setup Wars! Talk about obsession. . . no setup is ever complete. They constantly changing. We all know that feeling. It's complete and whole and then new things come out and taste changes. It never ends! I love seeing what people build. Inspiration and creativity at its finest! I have been working on my setup for about 5 years, and due to moves, it has changed drastically, both in location and size! Being in the setup is super satisfying! Keep em coming!

To answer your question Ed, I think it has more to with curiosity within the human nature. People are always interested in others with similar interests. Here it's setups, people like to socialise and talk about interests, and in real life not a lot of people can find others with interests as niche as this. I mean not every average joe is going to chat you up about cable management and personalisation on your desk, to most it'd just be a simple picture of family and thats it. This show gives people a medium to discuss this interest, see what others are cooking with their setups, and people who are going to make a new setup or about to improve their own can get inspiration obviously. Even if they aren't people always love to see what others are up to and with setup wars it's all in one place, its like a virtual hangout while serving the competitive spirit everyone has, comparing everyones setups and everyone's innovative approaches. The hosting you do is fun, and theres always something fresh with the submitted setups which keeps people hooked, not to mention the different editions you do provide variety. okay thats it felt like im typing as analysis essay for college lol

I am one of the people who has been watching you for a LONG time. I remember when you didn't have your own desk mats, and when your first warehouse was broken into. The only reason i say that, is because i do enjoy your take on things, however i keep tuning into setup wars because there really isn't anything like it. The best way I can think to associate it, is its like the "nerd" version of "MTV cribs" - if you are someone that has to work on a computer full time or just enjoy new technology, its nice to see other peoples setups and what they've done. while i agree with you that you have probably shown every possible configuration, the items in the setup are typically different, I don't think in all of the episodes I have seen that 2 peoples setups where the EXACT same. (disclaimer: I have probably not seen every episode, but I've seen the majority of them) so to more directly answer your question, i tune in to these episodes, because i enjoy seeing what people do with their setups.... another interesting one would be to tie in the setups with what the person uses them for.

I know I watch for a few reasons. Firstly it's like a nice habit, the quality and effort make them easy to watch and I enjoy seeing Ed. Secondly it's just simply pleasing to the brain to see symmetry and most of the featured set-ups present something unique whether they're considered "best" or not. Finally would be the inspiration, I've been recently upgrading my set-up more and it's been making me happier and even helped me finally start making my own content.

First off, when you have a hobby like building pc's, it never gets old seeing someone else's build. I think in the last few years having a room based around your pc build has become so popular, but it's great seeing it just the same. I could, sometimes do, just watch people build their setups from start to finish, it tickles the ocd I think!

The reason why I keep watching setup wars is simple, its interesting to see what other people do with what they have. different trends come and go. Sometimes I see someone on your show come up with something interesting and I want to replicate it so I can refresh my setup. I see parts of my setup scattered across many episodes and Im still impressed at how they work with their spaces given, budgets, etc. Sometimes people come up with really tacky designs but I still love them because (even though I'd never do it to my setup) its fun to see what people come up with. I love the good, bad and everything in-between. It's not just about buying the best and hiding the cables. I get inspired by the color designs, mixing and matching products. Sometimes I even get excited when someone has the same mouse or keyboard that I do. I'd never show my setup the show because I'm too shy and get embarrassed easily but I'm proud of those who have the courage to do so. I learn something new with every episode.

Not all of us have watched all episodes, and some setups are just so beautiful that you couldn't replicate. Sometimes its just nice to see and admire other peoples unique set ups. Although not all of us can compare to the insane set ups, the ones we get inspired from are the ones we like and want to take inspiration from. Sometimes you could get weird or interesting things that you like from each one that suits your style. Seeing how people compromise with their space and their price range.

Everyone has their own build/style. There is a story behind people's builds & honestly it's amazing how it can bring all of us together to admire someone's craft.

Honestly the biggest reason I come back even after a year or so of watching.. is mainly because of the setups (ironic right?) I love seeing everyone's take on setups, from small to huge, from expensive setups to cheaper ones. It even helps me build mine by taking ideas from the setups into my own setup, and it's also just enjoyable to watch these videos when they get uploaded.

Setup wars is genuinely some of the best content out there. Also it’s one of the few remaining video series that allow for pc enthusiasts to connect. It’s genuinely hype looking at others epic setups and improving our own as a result

back when I was younger I went to a friends house and his dad had this full blown setup, every console a nice computer for the time and it was just amazing. I grew up poor and very abused and one thing that i thought about all the time despite all the beatings was one day im gonna be able to be safe and on my own. For me my setup and having that amazing setup that makes other people have the same reaction I had when I was a kid is a showing of how far ive come and kinda gives me that feeling of my own things for me that I never got to have as a kid. The reason I watch setup wars is that every setup I see it gives me a really small bit of that feeling and inspires me with what I can do and add to mine to make it even cooler for me.

I love watching setup wars because I’m always trying to optimize my setup and to find the best gear. Setup wars is the main center of inspiration for upgrading my own setup and I love seeing others’ creativity.

I watch to look at how people express themselves through their tech setups and look forward to your reactions even if you might seem a bit jaded with them being same, same - 'nothing new under sun' trope applies here. For me it's the combination of those factors and what you choose to include in your final edited video that keeps me interested. :)

I've been watching for about 5 years now. I've watched for so long because of all of the amazing set ups and all of the inspiration this show gives me. I'd like to see an episode of sit/stand desk set ups.

It's relaxing asf and you make me laugh (few can). Binged a year's worth when I discovered your channel a year ago. Life's been tougher since then so whenever you drop and I get some time to watch, it calms me like few things left are able to.

Everyone is different, everyone buys different gear, has different personalities, etc. Setup Wars is a great outlet for these different products, personalities, styles. Super inspiring... it really helps people find new gear or styles they might be into that they would've never known about before. I will always expect new unique layouts with your series because you have a good fanbase that like to try new unique setups to submit on the show.

Ye we love the content because there will always be a new setup and inspiration, people like to change their setups or move like i recently did. Due to completly new wallheights and setting i had to completly redo my setup from the scratch. This series and channel helped me alot to define my taste and see how other people use similar spaces like mine. Thank you for continuing this amazing show!!!

For me I started watching this videos in the middle of the pandemic because of me being "stuck" at home and making the tiny studio apartment that I lived in a better place and kept watching making it my own, right now I keep watching them because of the "evolution" of mainstream setup. Like a mainstream setup looks different from 9 years ago from what is today even tho the same "bones" are still there. And also there is also always new gear and things that one might see but never buy it until it is seen in a proper setup.

Why do I love watching Setup Wars? I don't know, but it's really satisfying to watch, almost like a stress buster. It shows you that with enough dedication, you can go to any extreme to achieve your goals. It's one of the best series ever made on KZbin for all the gamers out there.

For me personally? It's a bit of the old saying it's not about the destination it's about the journey. I'm not a big believer in "peak" anything. When you think you hit your peak, just means you've run out of ideas for how to push yourself or have stopped looking. I forget who said it: Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence. And yeah I still get inspiration, because to you it may seem like the same setups over and over at this point, but each one is different. Sometimes it's intentional, sometimes it's because of how much space they have, sometimes it's a budget thing, each one has a compromise or innovation. Even if you 3D model every aspect of your set up, you're going to have to tweak something here and there, often time those tweaks are what I'm looking for. I've rarely come across a setup where I couldn't find something interesting or new. Some of it might be useful, or none of it, but if you stop looking/trying, well then you stop growing. Edit: Case in point after having actually watched more than the intro AJ as you pointed out didn't get that big desk, but wanted one anyways, so he uses the alex drawers which would usually be the support to actually be table top. It's an often overlooked easy way to avoid paying for those larger table tops. Carson? The corner shelfs for the speakers are what draw my eye. You're already putting shelves on both sides, but you don't want them that deep, so even though it may be a little counterintuitive, yeah just put in some more shelves specifically for the speakers. It's functional, and in this case, actually looks pretty slick. Carter? I love the tiny space ones because that's where you're really forced to figure out how to make it work. It's a little cramped with the PC actually on the desk (I imagine the elbow room isn't great) maybe wall mount it to the right a little above where it is now to open that up, but still great use of a very small space. Eli? The inspiration from minimal setups is rarely going to be from the arrangement or tweaks, but rather the placement of the setup. A minimal setup is 90% about what's around it rather than what it actually is, because there is nothing to it. The ideas come from placement more than anything else for me. Ezra? Pretty much your starter IKEA setup, but the side setup looks like it's all floating thanks to those supports on the wall. I think he's dealing with concrete walls, and even if he's not, that's a nice way to handle the issue of making sure it's anchored without having to do the usual dry wall anchor dance. If he ever needs to change anything, it's much easier. And so on. This post is already long enough, the point is every setup has something. A point of inspiration or interest.

The thing with set up wars is that we can see how aesthetics changes through time and that people will find inspirations from these to build their own set ups. Theres an unlimited number of ways to build a set up and its cool to see how it changes throughout the years.
