Got this phone and already love it, much in the reviews is made of its speakers but I struggle with too much bass. On the Samsung M31, sometimes I wouldn't hear the other frequencies when the speaker was low, so the 20R suits me well. So far I'm very pleased with the battery and screen too 👍

Are viewing angles good enough in comparison with for example realme 8i,c35

@@Carumboom I would say no, the viewing angles are more restricted. that is something that I have noticed, that the viewing angles are not as good as my previous Samsung phones (M31 ,A7-2018, etc). But equally, the 20 R 5G is much cheaper than they were and the screen is still very nice (very nice contrast, depth of colours, and feels a lot more comfortable on the eyes). The M31 would strain my eyes after too long. I also like having less of a viewing angle as it makes the screen more private to me, but for shared viewing I can see that it would be an issue (maybe 10-15% less of a viewing angle, but enough to be an issue for two people for any length of time). The only other thing I have noticed is that the phone seems to lag a bit at times, where the M31 didn't. But again, for me it is completely satisfactory for what I use it for. For the price it is extremely good value, and looks better and weighs less than the M31, but I feel you get what you pay for in hardware. 10% more expensive = 10% better phone. I would still buy the TCL 20R 5g, no regrets

A nice phone but I just can’t deal with these big screen sizes. I currently is a Sony Xperia XA with a 5.0in screen it may be circa 2016 but still works great for everyday use 👍

@@Youser57 same here it’s so crazy how big phones are getting. When you work at a job where you need to be discreet with your phone use an oversized phone just won’t do. But most people don’t really work so they can be on their phones all day especially in the states these days 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@bphipps312 I totally understand you. I'm usually working physical work or travelling and I find the bigger phones are awkward and/or break easier when dropped or accidentally sat on. Most of the reviewers review products not for the average joe or real world work. What about those people usually standing on a crowded train for example, do they really want to pull out a laptop sized phone from out their pocket?

My TCL 20 R 5G came with a protective case in the box here in Australia-this must be market dependant. Updated mine to the June 2022 security patch, came with the January security update out of the box.

You haven't been looking at the right models then! Here are some with niche hardware designs: 1. Samsung Galaxy A80 - slide up and flip camera for selfies. 2. Asus Zenphone 8 Flip - flipping camera module enabling some nifty photography/videography tricks. 3. LG G8X or Velvet dual screen - run 2 full screen apps side by side. 4. LG Wing - secondary display for additional info, or running 2 apps. 5. Samsung Fold 3 - fold out larger display for content creation. 6. Samsung Flip 3 - fold down display for better portability and flip phone nostalgia There are just the ones off the top of my head.

I went out and got this, had problems and in the short space I had it, it visited the service centre 4 times each time problem was not fixed on the 4th time they sent me a brand new replacement and guess what had the same issue. By the way out the box is the software you get since release it has not been updated it still runs on September 2021 security patch, and Android 11. I am finished with TCL will never buy another.

I unfortunately have the TCL 10 5G AND THE TCL 20 5G and can honestly say ... What a load of CRAP these phones are . Android 11 has ruined these models , they both run extremely HOT , STUTTER, AND CONSTANTLY CHARGING THEM TWICE A DAY! No help from TCL either . If I'd of known these were rebranded ALCATEL RUBBISH I'd have walked away. Never again ! Horrible phones
