@@smitjee To be honest, it is very compact, regarding design and size of phone compared to S24 ultra for example, it fits perfectly. Performance is insane (for gaming as well which I am not fan of), display is very bright and HyperOS offers a lot of features and it is very fluent and responsive (won't talk about camera that is insane). To add, I've used 11 Ultra as well.. and I can tell they speed up software updates by 5 times to be honest, nearly similar to Samsung phones.. which is very nice :). Hope it helps.

Just ordered a Xiaomi 14 12GB/512GB to replace my iPhone 15 Pro. It may seem a little odd to some however I’ve been waiting for a compact flagship that isn’t a compromised spec. The S24 would have been a good choice however I do not want another exynos. iPhone 15 Pro has issues with overheating, the Ceramic Shield marks super easy and iOS is very buggy. Also, the fact you cannot even change the vibrancy of the display is very frustrating. Also the major lens flare issues ruin most shots 💀 Props off to Xiaomi, let’s hope I don’t have the lens fogging issue

As a techie getting older and eyesight breaking, screen quality and value are my two number ones. Just got a Poco F6 pro and it's fantastic. 2k screen makes a huge difference and UK price was just over £300 with trade in junk phone. Can't get better for the price. Surprised 'display' isn't on the list. Also bought an F6 which feels cheap by comparison and my old F3 screen seems better.

During my (unintended) prolonged stay in the UK in part due to Covid grounding, I watched a lot of Chris and Tech Spurt. When I unfortunately realized my Asus phone was fried due to a scheduled update download. Without Tech Spurt I think finding a phone would have been a challenge as so many choices are not supported "globally" in Canada. At that time I chose the Oppo find X3 Neo. Now in 2024 it's no longer supported, yet it's every bit the phone I purchased and value for the camera. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another or any phone which is not supported globally now I am aware that I can do update/downloads with VPN. For "humour" and technical expertise and insight Tech Spurt is still my go to tech adviser.👍👍👍 As an afterthought! Chris also introduced me to the Niagara Launcher! I've never looked back since I installed it on my new phone, wouldn't be without it and it surpasses any manufacturer interface on any phone I explore!.

I agree, but dicey if you're outside😢 China. I hoped you would say, "Best Camera... the Xiaomi 14 Ultra but it has depth of field issues though the camera has excellent image quality! However, it is not tough! That "Xiaomi Shield Glass" scratches really easily! I have NEVER had a scratch on any display till date and I have never used a screen guard! I'm a photographer and you know we know how to look after fragile glass coatings so it isn't MY fault. The thumb scroll area is toast and it's not even 2 months old. (Btw, it's £1000 here but the camera kit isn't available)

Hi spud, been looking for a new phone for a while but nothing ticks all my boxes -On a £300 budget (can stretch it a little if necessary) I'm just looking for something with - a good display, - good performance, - fast charging (preferably 65W+ but I'm not ruling out samsungs) - solid cameras (not flagship, but no noticeable issues and I don't care about portrait mode or selfies - I'd like good main and ultrawide cams, telephoto would be a bonus) - not a HyperOS phone (basically rules out 75% of my options, which is my problem) I wish we had access to all the Chinese phones in the UK, would actually give me some options

You might have to because of the battery. Samsung doesn't make new ones after 2 years, so you will have to use old stock which are already degraded. Ask me how I know... 😒

Dont degrade your battery then, keep between 20-80% battery do not charge over night and battery will last 10 years no problem

Honestly the Redmi Buds 5 are not worth the money. They are in practice almost identical to the Redmi Buds 4 except for the Form Factor. They Redmi Buds 5 Pro are so much better it is a completely different league compared to the normal 5.

Every phone looks the same. Compact phone - screen with holepunch. Gaming phone - screen with holepunch (what gamer wants part of the screen missing?). Folding phone which has a literal second screen that can be used for selfies with the main cam - HOLEPUNCH. In the rare occasion i need a selfie, i turn the phone around and press volume up. Someone needs to produce a phone without a selfie cam, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Or anything at all different and unique.

For one of the best camera phone of 2024, instead of Vivo x100 u may consider Vivo x100s Pro/Ultra not the base since there's a downgrade on telephoto compared with x100 base. Vivo X100s series just came out this May.

I am a bit surprised by Chris today, best compact phone went to xiaomi 14, the xiaomi 14 ultra despite its vague profile was enjoyed by him the most. I am already biased cuz of the impression the xiaomi devices have created in terms of value for money propositions. I was expecting the s24ultra and s24 to be his picks. No iphones either hmm......
