Have u ever tried the Home Depot orange bucket..buy a swimming styrafoam noodle. Cut it to size to,line the rim of the seat. Use degradable bag to line inside and toss where indicated at a camp site. Actually the bucket is high enough and round enough. And ladies u can also purchase an oval potty seat to place atop the rim for better comfort 😊 u just gotta improvise

I bought a thetford marine style that weighs less than 10lbs empty. I also bought some high grade, rediculously expensive boat black tank stuff that keeps it from smelling. I'm willing to pay top dollar to not smell it. When you camp for more than a couple of days, the weight and space for carrying all the things necessary to manage a bucket toilet without needing a gas mask to use it is just too much.

A gallon of water weighs 8.34 lbs. A 5 gallon Cassette Toilet would hold 41 lbs of water + Cassette Toilet weight. After doing #1 and #2 you have to carry the same 41 lbs with the additional weight of #1 and #2 to dump in the toilet and refill and carry back. With a Trelino composting toilet you only carry out #1 and #2 without additional 41 lbs.

That's actually why I got the 2 point something gallon waste capacity. I'm not trying to carry more than 25lbs of pee and poo. I don't trust that not turning into a spectacular disaster.

I will add water after dumping, screw the cap on real tight, then shake back and forth, and pour out what I can. Repeat this until all is gone. I am hoping the pouches I bought to breakdown the waste and deodorize are as effective as people have said.

Honestly, if you are a guy, you can pee into a nice juice jug. Dump it out in the dark away from the public. ;) It's just pee. As to poop, unless you are in a bind and can't make it to a public toilet, that's about the only reason I can think to poop in my van, LOL. Even then, man, time to rent a hotel room until you feel better! When is the last time you pooped yourself in your car just driving around!
