Used to be in that situation but I ended choosing BS4 Pro because of SD 888. BS5 is better with battery bypass and android 12 though.

I bet that Black Shark (BS) has to clear the inventory of unsold units of BS4 & BS4s (together with their Pro variants) phones inside their warehouse. So, no surprise that BS literally just swap China ROM inside those phones with Global ROM for market outside China. Plus, with global chip shortage, there will be a longer wait for upcoming release of BS5 gaming phone.

You are no doubt correct there, I've thought the exact same thing myself they just took them, swapped the charger to an EU one and flashed a global ROM.

Go for BS4-Pro for future proof SOC. 888 is still a flagship chipset that can still compete for the next 2-3 years. I just ordered mine from my BS4 phone.

I have seen some YT channels ask why phones like this are still on Android 11 and just point them to the mess that is the Pixel 6 and S22. Both with issues and I cannot blame OEMs remaing on a stable Android version. I wish my S22U was on Android 11 and OneUI 3.1. These represent good value if you are only keeping for around two years. Keep a cheap Pixel for the cameras and use this as your main phone as it does as well as most phones costing twice as much.

Yes, it's been my experience also that all Android 12 phones have a lot of bugs. Only now I'm seeing some that are more stable (Realme GT 2 Pro)

True. I have samsung 21FE. This phone keep lagging even for a simple use. Android 12/one ui 4.0 is bug feast. There a some news talk about samsung deliberately throttling app on their phone. What a crook. Android is a bug os.

the black shark 4 does have video out using type C to hdmi port, ETA Prime channel does show case it does have video out function, not sure why this function is missing on the "PRO" variant???????

both are at almost the same price now. RM-6 Pro is like $30 more expensive. If you love physical trigger, go for BS4-pro. If you like air-trigger get the RM-6 Pro.

Seeing 1:20 an EU Plug charger makes me happy has this model finally is out Globally thanks Xiaomi. I don't think it is still relevant as 2022 got some so many releases already in its first quarter. I dont see as to where this BS4 Pro fit in its current spot for the market.

The SD8G1 chip is worth missing if you can. TSMC SD8G1+ is due out soon, Qualcomm is rushing it out due to the issues with the hot SD8G1 made by Samsung. I suspect it will be a very sensible decision in a few months time.

I'm ok with it because most new released phones are expensive. But as time goes by, months and months after release it gets cheaper. I just ordered mine waiting for to receive :D And I already have funcooler to dissipate its heating problem when playing long sessions.

@@DreamCatcher101-6 Black shark 4 none pro is cheaper, plus the snapdragon 870 doesn't throttle that much if compared with snapdragon 888, when both runs side by side snapdragon 870 and snapdragon 888, the 888 drop performance drastically and performance poorly while snapdragon 870 maintains it's performance, SnapDragon 870 throttles but not much as 888 does

@@DreamCatcher101-6 as a gaming phone yes since Snapdragon 870 can max out most games while 888 seems to struggle in Genshin Impact to reach 60fps. For an overall phone though the 4 Pro is better because of it's cameras.

I suspect they released the SD888 rather than the SD8G1 due to that being a poor SoC that even Qualcomm doesn't want. Rather than just ship their new phone out for marketing, waiting for the TSMC SD8G1+ seems like a consumer-friendly option and this will fill the gap until then, and the price is very fair. I am glad that OEMs are not just doing marketing stunts to get leverage and sales like Samsung does. Waiting for a better chipset is great news for buyers and will mean they will get a better performing phone than an S22U that costs £700 more! We see Samsung throttling gaming due to how bad their S22 line is with the new SD8G1 and the PR disaster of their GOS.

Yes, the SD8Gen1 is a hell of a hot chipset with some serious throttling issues. Hopefully, the new TSMC SD8G1+ will bit the fix.

8 Gen 1 by articles lags behind thermal management than Dimensity 9000 , better stick with 888 if you must as it is already optimized and mature for 2022. Still a perfomer.

@@kodaph Yes, the SD888 was also hot but developers and OEMs have had over a year to optimise it. ATM a better choice than an Android 12 and SD8G1 combo IMHO.

BS5 has slightly powerful sd 870 on android 12 and battery bypass. Budget wise go for bs4.

This 4 Pro have some downgrade than on the 3 Pro because the 3 Pro have a WQHD+ and a bigger screen at 7.1' but the RR of 3 Pro is at 90hz while this is can go up to 144hz that's crazy and not to forget it have a 120W chaging and also the 3 Pro have a better MP on UW it have a 13MP and also it have a magnetic charging in the back. Hope those feature will be uprise on the 5 Pro what you'd think guys is it a win win between this BlackShark 3 Pro and the 4 Pro, I'm thinking to buy one of this 2 I don't care if the 3 pro is a old phone because i guess app is run okay to that phone even that have a not so powerful SoC JerryRigEverything have a Note10+ so that's my opinion. But the higher refresh rate is nuts to have but who knows 🤣🤣 note im not a hardcore gamer just moderate gamer. 3 Pro also is heavier than the 4 Pro i think it weighs a 1/4 kilo.

Yes it's a downgrade in many areas hopefully they come back with a fan cooled SD8Gen1 model with the hardware triggers.
