Correction! The EU pricing graph at 6:43 isn't labeled correctly. It shows the prices for the 1 TB model of each of the SSDs, not the price of the capacity listed on the label! The US$ pricing graph is what it should look like.

It because a woman doing tech review some might feel typical. Usually man like jayz, steve GN, bitwit, paul and others man have done it. But for a woman, it feel awkward for some people especially in the field that has been dominated by male.

@@5federline Dude even GN don't make storage videos like this let alone the others lmao. And her presentation rivals even HUB! So I don't know what "awkwardness" you're talking about unless you mean those people are so astronomically sexist that they can't handle a woman reviewing tech. But I think you're actually right. Else there wouldn't be Andrew Tateism.

This is now dirt cheap even in India. 130 euro for 2 tb. I was checking all of the gen 4 reviews you guys made while checking the prices simultaneously. I started from the bottom of the ladder but the prices of the high end drives surprised me cuz even a couple months ago they were much more expensive. Can't thank you two enough for being the best Drivetesters and for being uber awesome!

I've built a few rigs when I was first getting into computers, but it's been a long time since I've done that. I've been poking a stick at building my first desktop rig in a couple of decades. Technology has changed so much since my last build in 2003 that I feel like a stroke victim learning how to walk again. The specs on this SSD look great for my game drive, but it doesn't look like the performance gain justifies the cost for my needs. Thanks for the review!

Wow can’t believe some people actually feel this way. PC building has gotten really streamlined nowadays. Most modern builds only need 3-4 cables connected from the power supply. SATA connection is a rare sight these days unless you have old 2.5inch SSD you want to continue using. Soundcards and optical drives have been rendered obsolete. Modern cases are a breeze to work in. Stupid molex is gone. So are IDE cables. No more setting master and slave drives. No more IRQ conflict errors. BIOS have GUIs. Most drivers auto detects. Heck even watercooling has been simplified. SLi and crossfire is no more. So what are guys talking about ?

Thanks Nada/Techtesters for this review 🥰👍🥳. Awesome performance 🥳🤩! Here in Australia 🇦🇺 Kingston drives are quite often one of the cheapest models of SSD/NVME on the market by a noticeable sum. Have to keep an eye out on this one, especially when a sale is on 🤯🤩 and very often I’ve seen Kingston drives on massive discounts here too.

Watching this review, I was nearly feeling terrible about my recent purchase (ADATA XPG Gammix S70 Blade)( *ugh* What a name...), UNTIL you got to the price of this beast! Wow! Checking Amazon at the time of my watching...2TB for $450 USD!!! I just picked up the ADATA S70 Blade and the performance (with the *most recent* firmware) quite often matches that of the KC3000...but at nearly HALF the price. I bought the 2TB model for $249 USD. I am definitely feeling better about my purchase. :D ~~~ Personal anecdotes aside: excellent review, as always. Right to the point, detailed review, great b-roll.

Thanks for the informative review. This once again proves to me that we should have kept 2.5" drives, but shifted to U.2 over the M.2 standard. Not only would you get the SSD away from the CPU/GPU area, but you'd have significantly better thermal performance. I got a SK Hynix P31 1TB M.2 SSD earlier this year, but I also got a M.2 -> U.2 adapter which also doubles as a heatsink in 2.5" form. When I checked the temperatures I'm running at load versus reviews of the same drive they're significantly cooler (10c+). It's not a cheap solution, but I'd highly recommend it if the motherboard supports U.2 ports (I believe OWC makes the only PCIe4 one, but I got the Icy Dock PCIe3 one).

The pricing chart at 6:43 is wrong - it is 179€ for the 1 TB version as you say, but the chart says 2 TB. The 2 TB is currently on amazon at 404€. BTW I got the WD_BLACK SN850 2TB with heatsink for 400€ a few months back. I guess this drive at 400€ with a cheap heatsink might be a better deal, but the SN850 with heatsink is by far the best looking SSD I think :)

I have a question: The way you explained SLC caching - that it could write the amount of data equal to 1/3 of the total free space before slowing down - makes me believe that a 4TB model would be able to write bigger chunks of data than a 2TB of the same model, before slowing down. Did I understand correctly?

Kingston had a controller/memory issue back in 2010 in their first ssd's... And STILL the issue isn't fully resolved. Still after certain period of time/read-write cycles the performance degrades so much that the drive isnt usable anymore... at the point that even good old HDD is faster. And this point for kingston is just a year or two or just after warranty period so your left with half broken drive that isnt working in great speeds that it had when it was brand new. And if it happens in warranty, drive is working, health manager sayes the drive is 'good' so if you take it to warranty it is denied by Kingston! Because everything is working! WD or Samsung SSD drives maybe isnt as fast on paper, but dosent degrade as quick as Kingston. I have bunch of kingston ssd's that is 2 or 3 years old(with 8-10TB written) and copying a 10GB file takes 15-20minutes. While samsung and WD has 5+ years(with 40TB+ written) health manager sayes 'good' and the drive still have the same performance when it was brand new!

For sure the 2 TB is the best bang for the buck. 2 TB: €300 4 TB: 800 (wtf) 1 TB: 170-180 512 GB: 100

I was wondering why 500gb and 1tb was different write speed then 2tb and 4tb and the smaller size the write speed slower.

How can you add a heatsink to it if it has chips on both sides? Two heatsinks? How to install it with heatsinks on both sides?
@Just1n_Case
@Just1n_Case 2 ай бұрын
It's a bit late, but heatsinks have two parts. One goes on top of the ssd and the other goes on the other side

I just ordered the 2TB version for my PS5 + a 3rd party heatsink. Do I just mount the heatsink on top of the existing thin metal plate or should I remove it first?
