How to Disable Touch Screen on Windows 11 or 10 PC

Really, thanks, dude! I have had a crack on the screen for more than 6 months. My mouse moves randomly every day at the crack point; sometimes I can't do any work. I thought it was a mouse update issue, but randomly, I found this video and saw one of the comments having the same issue as mine, which got solved. Nice and easy, strange to the point and it worked. Thank you! I've been getting phantom touch on my Surface Book 2 and I've tired everything. I watched another tutorial to disable the touchscreen but it didn't work. This one however did. Some time after boot up my laptop screen would register all 10 points of touch input rendering the device inoperable. Which forced me to hard restart it. But it would happen again and again. So I've not be able to use my laptop for a while. But now it's been disabled, so I can use it as a normal laptop.

There’s options like: HID consumer device, it worked for me if you don’t see any touch screen option on it. By the way, once you turn your computer on and off you have to repeat the process. So if you happen to disable something else, you can just hit restart. Last thing,, once you are in device manager, you can just search on google if you don’t see the option above from video. Just look up whatever device you want to disable it will tell you more or less. You are looking for one that may suggest touch screen or something similar. Sometimes the answers aren’t crystal clear on google, but like I said, just hit restart on your computer and you’re good to go and try again.

Thanks. With new updated the problem re surfaced. My touch screen operation was damaged long ago. First time, I couldn't do anything, I had to disable I safe mode with BIOS. Now it troubled my mouse, but I was able. 👍

One part of my screen has an issue where the touch only responds sometimes but always shows the line that follows your finger. Its so weird. The home screen always works in that spot . Must be a software issue. I uninstalled drivers and reinstalled drivers. Same issue.

What if I'm using a 2-in-1 tablet/laptop where it's not simply just a touch screen but is really a tablet? Also, why can't there be some stupid button toggle in the Action Center or something? Why is Windows so stupidly designed? There should be an easy, quick way to disable the touch screen with one quick toggle of a button or tile. Let's say you're showing something on your laptop screen to multiple people and need to pass it around or something and you don't want it to be interacted with via the touch screen. There should be a quick way to disable it.

Dude thank you I was trying to seat a fly and cracked the top of my laptop screen, and the crack has gotten worse to where it reached the bottom of the screen and the stupid computer thought the crack was me touching the screen, causing it to randomly go on a touching spree, making the device impossible to use.
