The SHAKS S5i is a smartphone gamepad powered by Qualcomm, optimised for 5G streaming game services and native games on Android, Windows, iOS, Mac OS. It is compact in size, lightweight and looks great but is it any good? To find out, keep watching.

I wonder if mapping mode could control 2-4 toram online, running simultaneously in popup windows or dex windows. Like both right triggers be two buttons in toram 1, both left cover two buttons over toram 2, ab cover two in toram 3.. and just alternate between right triggers left triggers ab and actuality hit the buttons in each popup/windowed toram On android.

Both are pretty good controllers, this one beats the X2 because of it's analogue trigger buttons but if you don't play racing games then you won't care about that, if that's the case, then the X2 is better in my opinion.

Dead zone is similar to the Flydigi Wee 2T. Button mapping isn't currently working on Z Fold 2 but Shaks is looking into the problem and will hopefully fix soon. The controller is really good, alongside the Glap, it is my favourite controller now.

the delay is noticeable from 1 to 10 in? Would you recommend it for COD Mobile online with other players? Or would you go for an ubsb-c, like the Razer?

The delay wasn't noticeable to me, it was fine with COD, but ofcourse USB based controllers will have no delay whatsoever. Personally, the delay with Bluetooth controllers (the ones I've reviewed) has never been enough for me to notice or for it to impact my gameplay.

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to test it properly before commenting. Having tested mapping mode with the Fold 3, with both COD and Genshin Impact, I can confirm it does indeed work.

Using the controller doesn't add any extra drain to the phones battery as I've always got Bluetooth on anyway. Gaming itself does drain the battery a little quicker as you would expect it to.

I think they're shipping out to those who backed the kickstarter project at the moment, I'm not sure when it will be widely available but I'll ask them and get back to you. As for the comparison, I plan to do a comparison of a few controllers including the ones you mentioned so please stay tuned.

@@Techtonicuk Hi, I was able to hold of one but I'm struggling using it and wanted to ask you a question. I'm able to pair the control fine when it's in the closed (regular controller) position. However every time I stretch it out to fit my phone, it seems the controller turns off and disconnects. It's driving me crazy. Is it defective? The Flydigi wee 2t didn't have this issue. It's charged and in android mode. Not sure what's going on.

That sounds defective, get in touch with them, it shouldn't disconnect or power off when extend it.

That case looks pretty thick so I doubt it would work with any controller I've reviewed but it's hard to for me to be sure as I don't have the case, sorry I wasn't much help.

Thanks. My Xperia 1 is 167mm in length and that fit, the S21 Ultra is 165.1mm in length so it will definitely fit.

Sorry for the late response. It depends on the case you're using, it works fine with the official Flip Cover case and the alternative S Pen case I did a video on recently.

This is what Shaks said to me regarding this name change: "we have changed the way to work with iOS due to a couple of reasons. First, due to the semi-conductor shortage, we were not able to get MFi chipset in the last few months, and we think this situation will keep going for the time being. Consequently, the chip-set price increased unbelievably. To overcome this situation, we develop "SW-based compatibility" with an iOS devices. Just boot S5b in iOS mode, its ID automatically adjusts to iOS device. So, please keep the firmware to the latest one by downloading from our Android SHAKS GameHub App or Windows App. Soon, we will release Mac application, also. Due to above change, we revised its name from S5i to S5b"

I haven't got a PS5 to test it with, but using an app called "PSPlay" I was able to remotely play the PS4, and that app also states it works with the PS5 too.

Yes you can, you need to download the Shaks Gamehub and map the buttons for COD.

My Sony Xperia 1 is 167mm in length, your Nubia Magic 5G is 168.6mm, since it just about fit the Xperia , I don't think it will work with your phone. You should check out my review of the Glap Play, as that will work with your phone.

If its Bluetooth it doesn’t worth, the only way to go is through charging port connection.

Bluetooth isn't bad, but through USB there's less input lag although I don't think on Bluetooth it has been that noticeable to me. Unless you're a competitive online gamer, I don't think it'll make a huge difference to you.
