I have actually just completed integrating an OpenAI Assistant and function calls to do a lot of the tasks you discussed here. Had some great success developing my own backend API to serve the chatbot data from my database. Very cool to know that I know can even extend some of that functionality and do much more and have actionable tools locally on my PC.

It's pretty scary man. They're quite capable of writing pretty advanced code. The only thing I've noticed is that the AI agent doesn't quite optimize code. It's really scary if you know how to tell it what to do to optimize the code. Such as, you can combine lines 8-16 in a single line using blank. They also are able to kind of logicize it out in many ways. So it'll go through a brain storm phase. It's wild.
