The US never tried to take Canada by force. It’s also funny the Shawnee joined the USA after signing the 2nd treaty of Greenville in 1814 and declaring war against the British.

Tecumseh was not a chief, no one from the part of the Shawnee tribe he was from was allowed to become a chief. He was their greatest warrior. There were many "great" attributes to his character besides being a warrior also.

@@marycross2602 That is very interesting. Thank you. I should have been more specific in using the word chief. Tecumseh was a "war" chief but could not be chief over the Shawnee as a whole. I think that's the "principle" chief. Correct me if I'm wrong. He was a great man.

Tecumseh lives in our Native people's souls, along with all those brave warriors who sacrificed everything and fought back against their oppression and genocidal attempts. We in the Caribe island of Borinquen are proud to have our great Native Peoples' leaders. One was the Cacique (Chief) Agueibana who fought the first battles against the European invaders. It started soon after a group of Tainos (Natives of the islands) drowned a Spaniard nobleman by the name of Salcedo while crossing a river. It was on after that! My own family can be proud to have Taino descendants that are actually not that distant in generations and is so noticeable in our features.
