I am no hunter, but I also feel that connection to the great outdoors. There is no feeling in the world that compares to being out in the woods for me. I feel this song in my bones, and it will forever be one of my absolute favorites for the feeling it brings to me.

Every Opening Day of archery season, as were tearing down the road headiin' for the deer woods at 3:30 or 4:00a.m.! Me and my best buddy & huntin' partner Tom ALWAYS crank that tune at least once ( or SIX times!! ) or it just wouldn't be Opening Morning??? Because, in the woods he's still alive and I'm glad to have him at my side, both Tom & Fred!! GREAT TIMES and a GREAT SONG that can never be matched!!

Ed Bilderbuck, according to Fred Bear, was the greatest bow hunter. "You can learn more about hunting in 1 week with a bow, than perhaps a gun owner might in their entire life" Words of genius

I'm not doubting Fred's hunting abilities but I'd rather be with the Benoit family, I'm a diehard gun lover and the stick and string don't have a soul like a rifle does and chasing big bucks through the big woods are what I'm interested in..

IDK that much about Fred Bear but when the Nuge wrote that song and Kiss my Ass I DEFINITELY knew I was a Ted Nugent fan!!! I was before this but I didn't quite have the understanding of the outdoors going on until I heard Fred Bear/ Kiss my Ass!!! I knew of songs like CSF, Wango Tango, Stranglehold, and Great White Buffalo ( which at that time I didn't know was a late Amboy Dukes era song), however; DEFINITELY think this song cemented his solo career!!! I do find it interesting that the more radical ( not left wing) the Nuge got the more Conservative in principle he got!!! Always found that interesting!!! DEFINITELY... An interesting dude 😎!!!

So my buddy in Hanover shoot Ted's Russian boar when it escaped. I was surprised to see all the pictures of Fred Bear in Blaney Park, Mi. To me that swamp is in Blaney Park. That's the home of modern archery. That swamp where Fred Bear got his first deer with a bow at age 42. Somewhere on that 30000 acres in a swamp with a ridge. It very well could be were I hunt on my ridge over the swamp. A Club destination was Blaney Park, 30,000 acres of Upper Peninsula woodland. It was there, in 1935, that Fred arrowed his first whitetail, a spike buck.

Never more true words you're learning more about deer from closer encounters vs long range shooting deer. Before the gunshots deer behaviors is more natural they don't feel pressured or nervous no other hunting like that to me.

That song is without question on par or better than his classics like Cat Scratch, Stranglehold, Livin in the Woods, Just What the Doctor Ordered etc.

Doesn’t matter, it was a pointless fucking war and that can’t straight from my papa’s mouth who served 2 combat tours 173rd airborne. Nobody and I mean nobody should be expected to give there youth to fight a war started by politicians over an absolute lie. We’re supposed to have liberty in this country and the idea that you can be threatened at gun point to go fight a war by politicians who’s own children are protected from having to do the same is absolute bullshit. The draft should have never been a thing same as selective service.
