The terror you would feel is unthinkable, your worst nightmare cannot even come close. The switch in personality is seeing the devil appear and suffocate everything you are. No remorse, no conscience, no care except for his own morbid pleasure.

No devil! Just a human being who received support from his parents, the incapable police who wouldn't know a psychopath if he fell in their soup, and people in general who cannot fathom just how cruel a psychopathic serial killer can be. We "white-wash" the news involving serial killers because we want to spare people the horror of what was done. Meanwhile, people (children included) need to know the full extent of their cruelty and the importance of being suspicious of strangers.

I get the same impression. He's a well-practised entrapper of vulnerable victims. He'd figured out a game plan and the necessary tools, the sling, the crutches, and he'd roadtested those and made adjustments to achieve success by the time society heard about his 'first victim'.

In the early 70’s when I was 19 I was driving from Tucson to Kansas alone. I stopped for gas in New Mexico and a man that I later learned looked like Ted Bundy followed me. He was behind me on the highway and drove a yellow Volkswagen. I was nervous. He passed me but slowed to look closer at me before speeding off. I had long dark hair parted in the middle but I had a lot of freckles so I always wondered if that turned him off. My guardian angel was with me.

Growing up, there were many rules. When we went out anywhere we never left anyone behind. We went to the bathroom when out together. One person stayed with the drinks at the table so we weren’t drugged. We all came to have drinks together and we all left and went home together. If you met someone, you would exchange phone numbers and call them later. I don’t drink. I was always the driver to make sure everyone got home and inside safely. There were 5 of us. My father was in the Marines and I had 3 brothers who spent time in the Marines. I learned this all from them. My brothers would come where we were sometimes. I was the youngest and only girl. NEVER hitch hike. Back then, most women didn’t have guns but I did and carried it with me at all times. They were legally obtained. This is an awful story about a MONSTER. They come in all walks of life. I am extremely introverted and I never trusted anyone. Especially listening to the stories that my father and brothers used to tell me.

So true, just think about when we were caught with our hands in the cookie jar as kids - Yeah, we may have got caught that one time but how many times did we not get caught? As viewers and regular folks, we only know what the media tells us or shows us in these videos. There are so many things we don't know about these killers. They all tell us what they want us to know in these interviews or what the police caught them doing. Some may offer additional details of their evil doings but we will never know all the bad things they did. That's the scariest part.

Andre Dunn he didn’t help solve the green river killing case. He only gave some of his ideas of the killer, which in turn in no way helped them catch GRK. He only said the grk was revisiting the corpses, which he was, so ted was correct. But that in itself didn’t help catch grk. Ofcourse he knew he was revisiting the dead bodies, it would only be common sense for another sadist raping murderer. But like I said, it didn’t help get the grk caught.

I've always been conflicted about the death penalty, but if there was ever somebody that needed to be executed it clearly was Ted Bundy. I grew up here in Seattle in the University District by the University of Washington which is exactly where Bundy was cruising. I used to have to walk about a mile to the bus stop to escort my mother and my sister home at nights because the area was so terrorized by Bundy. He used to frequent a bar in the neighborhood called Dante's Inferno, so I guess that's kind of fitting right? If I think about it, I think the death penalty is definitely more for the victims then for society as a whole, but that's just my opinion.

I have a hard time believing the woman who said she accepted a ride from Bundy. I found it strange that she said she was glad to be in a 'nice, warm' car. Anyone who has ever owned a VW Bug knows they have lousy heat. Other than the heater hoses that give a little heat from the engine, (a few Bugs were fitted with gas heaters). Another thing, I don't ever recall hearing of anyone getting away from him without a struggle. Her story just does not sound believable to me.

Was attacked after Bundy did Chi Omega. Carol DaRonch - Abducted, (Bundy used a ruse to get her in his car), from a shopping center but escaped after she fought him off in his car as he tried to handcuff her. Leslie Parmenter: A 14 year old who was approached on the street in Jacksonville, FL but her brother was near by and asked what was going on. Bundy got in his vehicle, (the van he'd stolen from FSU), and drove off. So, this woman - Sotria Kitsonis - never calls the police to make a report but says she told friends at the time. Almost would have been worth making a deal with him to reveal an agreed number of body locations each year of his life in jail, to get everything of value out of him before he was killed. Like, if he could come up with four bodies a year, and they were found, he could live for that year. Sounds macabre or morbid but his sentence was the death penalty - he had to offer something of value to delay it. I wish he remained alive about as much as those people jumping for joy at his death - but I also think the victims' families deserved to know where the bodies of their relatives were.

dazkptl would he have been honest ? It sounds like in some cases at least he gave the cops the run around. Also in some cases the bodies couldn’t be found due to weather , nature ( Lynette Culver was according to him left in a river but never found)animals making away with the remains, or simply because he couldn’t remember everything. Still, it might have been worth delaying if they could get him to talk more. He was hoping to milk his crimes to buy himself time though so some felt he shouldn’t be given that satisfaction.

dazkptl You make a good point. Actually they should have started playing this Russian Roulette ( get the location wrong and it’s over) game much earlier as by 1989 , the victims’ families and the general public probably had run of out patience waiting for justice to be done.He had so much time after the Sentencing that he even fathered a child.

@@nesadcruz7840 What's considered culturally acceptable changes with the times. I think the reason they didn't have this kind of trade then was the unpopularity of doing deals with mass murderers. @ReturnOfTheJ.D.
@ReturnOfTheJ.D. 5 жыл бұрын
@@nesadcruz7840 The term Russian Roulette is rather harsh in this case. My motivation in suggesting it was to give some aid and comfort to the families. Very, very few serial killers would not disclose the locations of the bodies of their victims for another year of life, and then another. That information is worth a reward for them, and it falls within today's moral standards (there are always moral standards in every place and time but they are ever shifting - there are never no moral standards). It would be a win-win if he could do it and a lose-lose if he couldn't.
@nesadcruz7840

dazkptl I agree this sounds pragmatic but here they had a highly manipulative serial killer who had escaped and committed more murders, moreover some of the families just wanted it over. Some of them didn’t want to delay the execution for info , they felt knowing wouldn’t help. Georgeann Hawkins mom for instance. Those who knew Ted didn’t think he would give everything away, Ann Rule for instance. He was unlike other SKs. But we will never know, so I too think it is perhaps an opportunity for solving more cases that was missed.

It's notoriously difficult to get free from shame. It tries to attach itself to our core. Embarrassment is much more easily worked through and brushed off.

I think there were two personalities in one body but not multiple personality "disorder" The Ted that killed, and the Ted that people knew as the all-American, nice, smart guy, knew all about one another & knew what the other was up to. Theodore Robert Bundy was insecure, pathetic, had no self-esteem, and never felt good enough or important. He's the one that loved Liz. Ted was a vehicle/outlet for all the self-hatred and rage Theodore felt. Ted the killer was strong, bold, fearless, in control. He just took whatever he wanted, including lives while Theodore just cried a lot. ( Liz spoke of him crying a lot in her book) I think this is why, when that female reporter asked him if he's ever hurt anybody he said, no not in the sense you’re talking about. I think he was saying Theodore never killed anybody. It was Ted. It’s very manipulative… it’s his way of maintaining his innocence. In his mind it wasn’t a lie. I know this may sound far-fetched and crazy and it's not an excuse or defense for his actions, but if you watch enough videos and read enough books about him, it's pretty obvious that he was two different people… people spoke of his entire face and eyes changing in an instant… but not necessarily split. Just my opinion. Glad he is gone from this earth but it is fascinating IMO. Rest in peace sweet girls…

I think the detectives/interviewers played him a fool. He did confess and they executed him. While when he went for the trial first the deal was he confess and then he won’t get death penalty. In a way they got him while he couldn’t harm anymore. Finally if he had not confess everyone would still have a doubt and his families would have stayed in denying all this. Yes he was devil but somehow by telling his stories he could have help a lot on understanding this kind of behavior. I felt at the end he wasn’t that arrogant. Having a psychology degree, having study law and experienced criminality and all kind of disorders he could have brought good contribution on psychology / criminology research . And perhaps we would have been able to do some research on brain and genetics… what a waste!

I had hair which was almost black, parted in the middle, slim figure. This is not a Ted Bundy claim. I live in Connecticut. 1966, a tan VW Beetle stopped along side me. The man looked like a college student, dark hair, clean cut, nice looking. He said, "Would you like a ride?", I answered, "no thank you." He said, "Get in the car, please". I was kidnapped by Ted Bundy. Sure, I never bothered to tell anyone about this psycho who said he was going to kill me, had been stalking me and drives around in car without a passenger seat door handle. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone, but now I'm telling everyone.

It kind of annoys me the way his mom distances herself from him. She basically says "Oh he was a wonderful person when he lived here. Something out THERE must've triggered this madness in him" I'm like, um...no, having a controlling mother who allowed him to witness abuse and detective magazines when he was little is what triggered this madness in him. Take some responsibility 🙄

It depends on the individual person if reading about crimes would help you become a person like that. I personally have only ever read about the crimes in the paper and I'm definitely not a serial killer. It was his choices.

I don't think so. Bundy just enjoyed the hunt, and the feeling of power he had over his victims. I believe many serial murderers are born that way...

Was there ever an explanation for why he loved talking about his crimes except for the young girl - Kimberly ? was it. I saw part of an interview he gave years ago and he got really really angry when the interviewer asked about her murder. I’ve often wondered if it was because she was a child and her death didn’t fit with the image he had of himself.

Many serial killers wait several years between their very first victim and their second victim which begins a series of multiple murders until they caught. Dahmer and Gacy both went multiple years between their first victim and their second, although Dahmer may have also killed Adam Walsh in 1981, which would have been a little over 3 years after his 1978 murder.

What you see on t.v isn't the real America. We are some of the most generous, honest,hard working people that would give someone the shirt off our backs. Also most of us love and welcome people from different countries, cultures and race and want them to come and make a better life. But we do love shooting guns and lifted trucks and mud lol

@@JR-uf7yf you've not experienced a Narcissist enraged, about to harm you, crush you, assault you or attempt to murder you then, or you would understand the description. A Narcissist facade is switched on and off as needed. Every action and word from a Narcissist is a manipulation. They don't have a true core self and rely on the facade to get their needs met. See HG Tudor's KZbin videos about Narcissism, especially 'The Prime Aims', which explains brilliantly their motivations: 1) power and control 2) "fuel" emotional responses caused by them 3) character traits for the construction and maintenance of the facade 4) residual benefits: money, fame, sex, property, status, social contacts, etc. All of these bring more of 1) and 2). His video 'The Stare' and 'The Stranger Zone' explain aspects of eye appearance changes noted by victims of Narcissists.
