I grew up with WCCW and Memphis Wrestling... Kerry Von Erich was one of my favorite wrestlers...He moved incredibly in the ring.. great ring awareness and timing...the guy was a really good hand..R.I.P. 🌪️

Kerry Von Erich was my favorite wrestler, long before WWF. I have seen matches with Kerry and Ted from Houston, as well as WWF matches (after Kerry lost his foot) and the matches were good. I have discussed this with Ted years ago, and I would have loved to see a program between the 2 in the territory days. Kerry could sell better than many of the muscle guys (Luger, RWs, Hogan, UW,) and his brothers. If not for his drug issues, exacerbated by the foot loss/pain meds, he could have been the best babyface ever.

The second wrestling event I ever attended was in 1991, the first was a for Stampede in ‘87. The match I recall the most during the one in ‘91 was Kerry Von Erich Vs Ted DiBiase, sure Kerry wasn’t in his prime but I am grateful that I got to see at least one Von Erich live. That match for me though was like watching Mid-South Vs World Class.

I went to a show with Ted vs Kerry on the card. Kerry was... umm... "delayed" arriving to the arena and was replaced by Tito Santana. Kerry did a run-in at the end.

I would agree with that if you are only including Fritz, Kevin, David, and Kerry. The youngest 2 were tragically not wrestler material. Mike didn't want to be, and Chris wasn't physically able to be.

I always wondered why that Kerry/Dibiase feud never really happened. Dibiase literally cost him the IC title! Yet we got a Dibiase/Virginia feud instead while Kerry foundered throughout 1991.

Except for the facts: - They got all dates wrong and changed so much stuff around. Most infuriatingly the Flair (als worst casting in a movie ever) match. Kerry vs. Flair happened in 1984, not 1986 obviously and there never was a coin toss as Kevin had his big match with Flair in 1983. - Left out Chris von Erich completely. Why? It's absolutely insulting to him and his short legacy. As if he wasn't important enough - Portrayed Fritz as a massive asshole, which he wasn't in real life by all accounts - Changed the sale of WCCW for the worse (in Reality it was sold to Jerry in 1989, not 1993 and Mike was absolutely against it, hence why he later started "WCCW II: The Next Generation") because the sale in 1989 affected the Von Erich kids for the worse, it was a emotional moment. - Kerry having a fictional girlfriend in 1989, when in reality he was married since 1983. - Ignored the real fact why Kerry had his leg amputated. Also ignored him getting caught with half a kilo of drugs at the Ft. Worth Airport in 1984 with Fritz having to bail him out by bribing the cops and prosecutors so Kerry got off with a misdemeanour. I guess for casuals who don't have a clue it's "incredible", but if you know the actual Von Erich story (and it's way more tragic and sad than portrayed in this fictional movie) it's infuriating and annoying. And the Flair casting was so atrocious, i have to mention it a second time. How can you screw up Flair so badly?

One man gang mentioned the Von Erichs were pretty stiff. It was almost like a real fight with those guys. He said Kevin wouldnt call anything. He would just come in with kicks and punches.

@@madtownangler neither do I, bro. I haven't watched a single wrestling match since the late 90s! Lol It's too Hollywood these days and just don't capture that same 90s feel we grew up experiencing in the 80s and 90s. You certainly missed out, especially his WCCW days. I loved when he would make stops in Mid-South (my first exposure to him), but really became a fan when they syndicated the WCCW show and got to watch them weekly. I saw him in person vs Butch Reed in MSW, and he body-pressed Reed. As a kid, that was freaking awesome.
