No, they haven’t. The “I’m a strong and capable man” shit from season two doesn’t necessarily mean it’s cuz he’s a closeted gay. I mean, sure now we know it’s related but it could’ve mean anything before that revelation so it wasn’t a really good set up. And the grinder comment doesn’t mean shit, everyone knows what grinder is, it doesn’t mean they’re gay.

Zava is so self absorbed that even when he tried to compliment someone else it's just to compliment himself. When he said Will was the most important person in the room, it was because he was himself a kitman at a club when he started. So he was implying that he was the most important person when he was a kitman.

Colin being gay is also difficult in UK football because it really isn’t the most accepting sport on the male side. The women’s team, more of them are gay and it’s whatever (though not without certain media publications making it something). Players have been shunned and severely bullied for being out. For as uniting football can be, it’s very backwards in the modern world in some areas

I love how they based the Zava character off Zlatan. You really need to look up his classic comments online as they are hysterical. He was a great dominant player so he usually backed up his comments. My favourite Zlatan story is when he came over to the MLS for the LA Galaxy (after Beckham and Stevie Gerrard did) and LeBron James decided to 'welcome' him to LA by sending him his jersey. What did Zlatan do? He signed the jersey and sent it back to LeBron! That is some brass balls. Honestly, Zlatan probably has more fans World wide than LeBron so to him it made sense that LeBron wanted him to autograph his jersey for him. That is what Zlatan is about. Seriously, look up his classic quotes online as it's like doing lazy situps you'll be laughing so hard.

That therapist is so unethical and gross! Hate him. Colin's dilemma has an extra element that even though he might be semi-confident the Richmond team would be supportive of him, he is a professional athlete in a sport (one of many) that's got some serious toxic masculinity issues (along with the misogyny and homophobia that goes hand-in-hand with toxic masculinity) The more people he's out to, the more likely it goes public, and the greater the risk to his career.

I wonder if Nate had subconsciously picked up that Colin was gay. Colin was the only player who Bad Nate was aggressively mean to, starting with his whistle joke about Colin never having been blown. Bad Nate never was in-their-face mean to either Isaac or Jamie, who also bullied him. If he suspected about Colin, he would have seen him as weak and ripe for aggression.

Yeah, the therapist was probably the only part of the writing I didn't like. The effect they were going for could have been achieved by nearly any guy or any old friend who was still in Kansas. It being their couples therapists felt like a major overshoot to increase the drama and used up a lot of the goodwill the show had built up with me.
