I saw him at the Cow Palace in San Francisco April 1980 while stationed at Mather AFB, Sacramento. Not only was I the only Black person there, it was the loudest noise I ever heard in my life! He had like 12 Marshall Amps hooked to twin magnetic promp receptors. I've never been to a hard rock concert before--only soul and jazz so my Air Force buddies took me. Boy was I shocked by the energy! I have to hand it to everybody at the concert; they treated me real nice and I truly felt special. Everybody kept asking me if I was OK. I don't like the Ted of today and his crazy politics but I love the Ted of the 70s and early 80s.

I wish he could have talked My friend Jimi Hendrix out Of doing drugs early on, he and Frank Zappa were the only ones I knew @ that time, that did no drugs ever, Frank, too, reamed Jimi out for doing drugs too.. I have to say, Jimi was trying, he did cut back some. Towards the end of his life, he was going in the right direction. To no avail... Rip Jimi. Saw Ted in '79 at Tarrant County Convention Center and recognized him as a true force of nature and a living breathing legend of the likes of Buffalo Bill, Geronimo, Patton and George Washington. Met the legend in person in 2007 and despite his age he's super strong, full of energy and a phenomenal axeslinger who can do things others need effects to do. He can actually play slide without a slide and create echoes without a tape echo. Amazing! He gets mistreated by the media because he's protecting our second amendment and pointing out who these leftists are and why we must stop them. God bless the Nuge!!

As you guys can guess, that wasn't it. It was hodgkin's lymphoma. Stage 4b when they finally caught it. Though as you can see I'm fine today, just got a few side effects to deal with.
