I am being forced to come back to the office in NE Portland for work full time after January 1st and am scared to death. At 65 years old and a few years from retirement I know I am an easy target for the violent homeless people and thugs who run the city and do not believe I can come to Portland safely. Fear is Ted Wheeler's legacy.

Oh, & just as an FYI: While i love the enthusiasm & compassion that Keith Wilson has displayed as he has ran for & became our Mayor-Elect; I no longer believe he will be able to put much of a dent in the Homeless Problem, not after maga trump got re-elected! Once they DOGE us with a Thousand CUTS, there will just be a revolving door of more new UN-sheltered, with an H of aLOT more Seniors filling the new slots!

This wasn't going 2B the 1st Story i commented on when i came in tonite, but since it was front & center, i figured oh, what the hey. Overall, i give Ted a C- & i'll tell you why. 1st of all, i had no involvement with the 2017 Protests becuz i had some really heavy stuff going on personally, but i was part of the 2020 BLM Protests & look Ted, you can't blame the 'interlopers or bad actors' for how you initially reacted, so imho, you are trying to sanewash your cover Story, rather than apologize for ANY of your early decisions. So, even tho i might have given you an overall B- because you did good with the Covid Stuff (well, unless getting out those vaccines & what not, were actually organized by others)? So but, for anyone who wants to read further about YOUR MISTAKES related to BLM, then feel free. SO Ted, did you ever have any kids? If so, would you have ordered tear gas on THEM while they were actually, still Peaceful?! I only went out at night that very 1st weekend because i am just too long in the tooth these days, to outrun that stuff. It can literally suffocate PPL to death. I ought to know, it almost happened to me in another State in the 90's. But i digress. You had put alerts out on ALL our Cells: there will be 8pm curfews & did it for both F & Sat. Instead, you pulled a FAST ONE & started gassing us, while PEACEFULLY just hanging out, at 7PM instead; sans any warning whatsoever! It was a provocation, not self preservation for the CITY. You gassed us again the very next night at the same place, while also small in # & equally as peaceful. Yes, it was 8:10 pm & there was 'warning,' but you still violated our RIGHT to Peaceably Assemble. Anything that happened after that weekend, is a-LOT on you for acting in a manner inconsistent with our CIVIL RIGHTS! I only went to Day events after that, but DO NOT try to blame 'those others' when you had already shown yourself to be a heavy handed thug. You were proving the point that police & their Bosses do in fact, treat People of Color & those who dare to stand with them - in ways they do not treat white people! Full Stop! And as long as you refuse to apologize or take ANY Personal responsibility, well, suffice, i still regret that i had voted to re-elect you barely a week earlier!! And what trump & vance did yesterday inviting a murderer to a football game, while not also atleast extending an Invitation to the family of the man (Jordan Neely) he choked to death ... mic drop
