Two awesome F-35B Lightnings at RAF Marham perform a take off called a 'Short Take Off'.
RAF Marham is the home of the F-35 Lightning a 5th Generation, multi-role, stealth fighter. Marham operates the B model F-35, which is a STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) aircraft. The RAF omit the 'II' because this is RAFs third Lightning!
The Lightning’s short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) capability allows it to operate from the new ‘Queen Elizabeth’-class aircraft carriers and the vessels of allied nations, as well as short airstrips. The F-35B lands vertically like a helicopter and can take off in very short distances, allowing it to operate from austere, short-field bases and a range of air-capable ships.
