Gabbie is the hidden backbone of the family. After watching the prequel, I've noticed that walang ibang ginawa si Gabbie kundi intindihin yung mga away ng mga kapatid nya. Tuwing nag aaway mga kapatid niya, wala syang ibang sinabi kundi "Ate, tama na". Sya lagi pumapagitna sa away ng mga ate nya, kaya din siguro lumaki syang ganyan. Taga disiplina ng mga kapatid nya. I really like her. When she made herself so bold and tough because she needed to just for her family. She was always deemed the annoying know-it-all by Teddie and sort of also Alex. When she's also vulnerable and no one was on her side but Alex (when they were kids). Teddie seems so demanding to make any plan her idea because she's the oldest and it's her responsibility... However, she somehow fails and it made her stupid and not good enough as Bobbie who's always successful that's why she's envious of her.

She did not hate her sister but she felt betrayed somehow and it hurt her even more, ignoring the sister she was closest to growing up. I'm sure that at some point she really wants to patch things up with Alex but as the bread winner of the family, it became hard fot her to open up, and to be vulnerable in general. She also thinks that in a way, she's an outcast, that no one really favors her or takes her side so instead of confronting her sister, she may have thought that Alex is better off without her.

Sa umpisa, na aannoyed ako sa character ni bobby the way na nag sa silent treatment siya kay alex. Atsaka siguro ung sa pagka sabi niya kay teddie na "hindi ka ba nag iisip?!" Na aaarrogantehan ako sakanya. Pero after ung nag open up siya sa kanila, I feel sorry ako sa character niya. It turns out na sya pala ang pinaka kawawa sa kanilang lahat. Hindi ako achiever sa school pero naiintindihan ko ang character ni bobby. Napaka husay mo sa klase pero wlang nakaka appreciate ng acheivements mo.

“Importane sakin, binuhay niyo ako, pinakain niyo ako.” Just imagine how much of an outsider she must have felt growing up na she conditioned herself to just be happy na “pinalaki” siya ng magulang niya. Na parang ‘buti nga pinalaki ka pa, hindi ki iniwan na lang’ na mindset. Ang sakit nung nangyari kay Teddy and I relate to her on so many levels, but Bea’s character lived her whole life thinking she’s alone while being surrounded with family. No matter how many times I've watched this scene, it never fails to bring me into tears. It just hits different. The more you watch the whole film, the more you realise how truly exquisite the writing is. The writers are very particular about the details introduced in the plot. Lahat ng major characters may strong driving reason to why they are that way, and why they did what they did. And somehow they managed to answer or make sense to almost all of those as you go further the storyline (especially this scene). I personally consider this as one of the rare gems of Philippine cinema. A true classic!

I relate so much with Bea's character. When you learn to be quiet because they won't hear you. When you learn to be tough because no one else was there for you. You had to be strong alone because you have to face the problems alone. Tapos sasabihan na matigas ang puso mo, hindi nila alam sila ang dahilan bakit ka ganyan. Everyone's talking about Bobbie but Teddie's role as the eldest deserves a lot more credit. Oo overachiever at walang pumapansin kay Bobbie, pero bilang panganay tulad ni Teddie, nasa kanya lahat ng pressure. You have to live up to your parents' and siblings' expectations dahil ikaw ang magse-set ng standard. Ikaw ang kanang-kamay ng parents mo at ikaw ang role model ng mga kapatid mo. Kaya kahit nahihirapan ka na, hindi mo magawang masabi na nahihirapan ka kasi panganay ka at kailangan mong magpakita na magaling ka at matatag kahit sobrang sakit na sa loob mo. 😞

Apat kami magkakapatid and puro babae din. The funny thing is, before we ever watched this movie noon, halos ganito naging away namin magkakapatid. Ako panganay and super insecure ako sa pangalawa, who is basically great at everything (sya din yung least favorite ni mama) tapos yung pangatlo, wala din laging alam sa nangyayari. Yung bunso mas mature pa sa amin. Kaya sobrang relate kami sa mga characters because we see our family here.
