It always seemed that every Ethiopian emperor that ever was, loved and respected it's country and readily picked up arms to defend any nation in need (i.e south Korea) . Best believe that if this king was alive today and he asked anyone on the street to follow him into ANY battle, they would say yes before the last words fell from his lips. That isn't just a king, but a wise and merciful man. (He ordered that any Italian solider found injured in the war gets medical attention, reinforcing that our humanity should never waiver, even in the face of war).

I think u meant that king Menilik took tabot to the war because of our strong Christian background, And the largest portion of our population ( I believe over 60 %)is still Christian and Muslims make up 1/3rd of the population.
