What a memorable character a legendary career a storied history most are unaware of Teddy’s long career. He paid his dues that for sure and created one of the most entertaining gimmicks. I’m so pleased he finally got his due and was recognized for his over 25 years in the business he deserved a spot in HOF, since the number of Afro Americans inductees is such a small percentage of the business historically not from lack of talent we know why unfortunately some of the greatest talents never got a full push. ThankGod that is finally changing Teddy Long a classic and a good good person who has helped countless talents pursue and enhance there careers. Teddy is absolutely the best in terms of Fan appreciation he is always nice and willing to sign Autographs for kids.

I've never seen people so taken aback because someone shows respect for the dead. Yes, I hope God does rest Chris Benoit's soul in death because he was obviously troubled at a significant point in his life. I would hate to live so many years, on this earth, living my life only to have it summed up by one moment. But then again, when I'm dead I won't give a crap about what other people think of me... Hell, I don't really care now. Rest in Peace, Benoit Family... Thank you for devoting your lives to the enjoyment of people who would only love you when you make them smile.

Jim Crocket was a douche bag if he did something like that to Teddy. Anyone who would talk trash to Teddy and call him the "N" word is a worthless piece of shit. Teddy was always kind and polite to EVERY one. I wrestled back in the day when Teddy was just getting started in the NWA. My nephew found an old video of one of my matches in Porterdale, GA where Teddy was the ref. I was doing okay financially (I had my own business) and only wrestled for the fun of it. I was going to Montana for the summer where I had a cabin but we had a problem. I had the Southern Jr. Heavyweight belt at the time so that meant I had to lose. We decided on a, " Loser Leave Town" match so I had to give up the belt. It turns out I lost it to a guy who went by the name "The Masked Avenger". The reason he got to win was because he owned the wrestling rings, lol,. This match was funny as hell if you weren't Kayfabe. The guy was a crowbar, couldn't work for crap and on top of that he was partially deaf. Now, let me say right up front, I did like the guy, he was just a damned crowbar. Hell, I'd always end up bruised as all hell after working a match with him. Anyway, I was calling the match and I'd keep telling the guy what I wanted to happen next, but hell, he couldn't hear me, especially with that mask on. It's here on youtube if you want to see it. At one point you can see Teddy start to move in because he could see that I was trying like all hell to tell the guy what to do and it was getting awkward because he couldn't hear, so instead of a snap mare, I just did a heel thing, punched him, choked him and threw him out of the ring and let my partner and manager work him over while Teddy pretended to be warning me. It worked. I being the heel, lost and the crowd went wild. I swear, back then we didn't do all the flying off scaffolds the steroids and all that crap. We worked alright, we worked the crowd. And we did it well. Oh that link is: Teddy Long Cheats Jim Thunder out of Title. Anyway, take a look, that was over 30 years ago. Man how time flies. Later guys, peace out.

It's because behind it all, behind all the crowd supporting "Woo"'s and cheap suits, Ric Flair IS an asshole. I know he's a legend in his own right but to go years (if not decades) being a complete narcissistic prick to your co-workers is just wrong. On all levels. I was never a fan of Flair though.
@Janayla9410 жыл бұрын
I started losing all respect for Flair when he started kissing Triple H and Shawn Michael's asses back in the early/mid 2000's in his last wrestling run within the WWE and started talking shit about Bret Hart to obviously earn brownie points with Triple H. But when Scott Steiner called him out he didn't have shit to say about Steiner and avoided him like a plague. What an old punk ass for that, you know.

I starting watching WWE around 05 and I loved Teddy Long as the GM and I guess that's what he was talking about at the end. I hated how he was a great GM for SmackDown and then they just took him off tv for a while and then he comes back to job for Vickie Guerrero's wheelchair and dies after he gets married. At the time I felt so dissatisfied and that was one of the big incidents where I could see SmackDown starting to go downhill. I would have loved the manager angle, even if he wasn't GM I would have been happy just to see him playing some heel roll on the show even if it made me not like him. And you have to love his stories of hanging out 1 on 1 wit da Undertaker.

Two things I got from this shoot. The first, in regards to Nancy & Benoit in the same motel, that was kinda like life imitating art when you think about what was soon to come. And 2nd, seems I recall (don't know if it was in this shoot with Teddy or not) Teddy recalling a night where (and this after Nancy & Benoit became an item) the 3 of them were sitting at this table at a diner eating & the story goes according to Teddy, Benoit reached for some food (maybe a pork chop that was on a plate or something) & Nancy either stabbed the back of Benoit's hand with a fork, or came damn close by stabbing the plate. But long story short, Teddy said, "Nancy DID have a mean streak about her cos I seen it." Just wish I could remember which shoot that came from but I did see it on youtube before. Guess what one can take away from this is, before everyone starts to feel sorry on how Nancy died, just remember according to Teddy, she was NOT the easiest person to live with. And in no way do I condone the manner in which Nancy died from & NO I don't excuse Benoit for doing what he did, but lets just say that going by what's been said about Nancy, I guess maybe Teddy was right, she had a way of pushing ones buttons at times. Maybe that's what caused Benoit to go over the edge. Maybe it wasn't. Who knows? One thing I DO know is, this post is NOT about if Benoit killed Nancy or not. So don't go their. Take that up someplace else cos I'm not gonna even get into that one. This post is about what Teddy said in a shoot he did. Nothing more, nothing less.
