This is just the essence of judo. Jigoro,master of judo, said “flexibility sometimes beats macho “.

Teddy Riner is jsut coming back to the competition and isn't fit at all.
@tm.83994 жыл бұрын
@@diegoeme1 Not even that, Teddy Riner just came back to the competition after a 1y and 6months hiatus. He is not fit (very fat) and need to get the sensation back. It was the best time to beat him.

That was a fast reversal. I rewinded the finish several times to see how it happened. Good match.

Ça peut lui faire du bien de perdre, 154 victoire d'affilés ça lui a fait perdre sa motivation de gagner. Maintenant, il va pouvoir s’entraîner plus sérieusement.
Reminiscent of Hamada filling in for the injured female super heavyweights or the sublime skills of Muneta! The Japanese prove that bigger is not always better. This was sobering lesson for Teddy. Despite this and his recent Olympic defeat, he still has one good Olympics left in him, however 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿🇬🇧🇯🇵🇫🇷

Congrats! Even though he is past his prime, but Kogoro was always one of my favourites

Grey Fox any idea how old he is?

Grey Fox He’s just 30 and kokoro isn’t even in his prime if you talk about prime. You’re just a typical loser who can’t just give a compliment without making someone look bad once

@@0330eri and you have no idea how sports work. When you in this business for over 10 years, it drains you, mentaly and physicly. NBA players for example retire when they are in their mid thirties, and rarely reach 40.

@@greyfox3954 Yes, he's like 6 years older than Kageura but if I look at Riner's 154 victories streak it sure doesn't like he's out of his prime. I mean he didn't lose because he was exhausted or something like that. He just got countered beautifully.

Teddy did not have great Judo technique but he was huge and immensely strong. The French love the big stronger guy which is an insight into French character. I am astounded that the much smaller Japanese won. He will always be famous for this.

Honestly i share your opinion Teddy is not the best for technique but he has an immense body and strength which give him a lot of advantage

Kagaura is also nice in that he showed a very small victory sign after he got wazaari from Teddy to refrain from over action for the win.

A diferença de tamanho é nítida parabéns ao japonês 👌🇯🇵.
Although there is a big difference in physical size, I feel that the real challenger looks Teddy. Kageura is fighting without fear to lose at all, and his playing attitude is very very positive, but Teddy looks not confident.
This was a great match. Riner is a bit past his peak. But this also reminds me why I like watching the lighter weight classes.

I practiced Judo for 20 yrs and eventually moved on to self-defense nagewaza via another system. Judo is about strength in reality, but in theory, it is pure skill. Some players have the pure skill, but most are about the force which is why there are weight classes. To throw an opponent without hurting them is pure skill and very hard this is what Kano did. These throws are very easy when other techniques like strikes and wrist manipulations are allowed like in a real self-defense scenario. Uchimata by striking the groin with a hook kick is very effective regardless of opponent size. Ippon Seoinage is more effective if you grab the wrist and twist while locking the elbow, but to see these Judokas throw opponents without the chance to do it that way and do it so clean is really a treat. It brings back memories. I hear that Kataguruma has been rendered useless because players no longer are allowed to grab legs.
