10:30 - Baespae is the Korean word for Crow Tit which is a type of bird - the expression itself is coming from a Korean idiom about class and people knowing their place - a crow tit has short legs compared to a stork - don't try to do something you shouldn't or you'll hurt yourself - know you're place. The dance practice and live performance of this song is so fun. It's obviously a serious topic but the choreo literally includes the bird references in a fun and cheeky way.

Been following the channel for a while, more than a year? I'm not naive enough to know where he actually stands. Everyone has their faves. It's a lot of misunderstanding of the industry/BH based on some haters and embarrassing solos and a bit of (understandable) overprotectivess on our part. But I am confident that people who are genuine in their love for music (he seems like one) will put aside their bias and respect their artistry. If not, well many have come and gone... True artistry stands the test of time.

Crow-tit. Even though the word crow tit has a fixed meaning, its usage, particularly within Korean culture, has changed and evolved over time. Originally, crow tit referred to a small, puffy bird; however, after being used in a Korean proverb, the term crow tit came to refer to someone who is trying too hard to fit in by becoming something they aren’t. Using this latter meaning, the Korean band BTS released a song where they called themselves baepsae, which is the Korean name for a crow tit.

Here they are calling out the upper class older generation and saying the average folks of their generation should band together. Now funny thing. 19:13 Yes! This is one of the reasons I have come to love BTS. Most of their songs have at least one nugget of wisdom you can take away and apply and/or a piece of raw, hard-hitting reality (I call them truth-bombs) that can catch you off guard yet feel like something a true friend would tell you when they know you need to hear it. They all have lines like that in different songs especially RM & Suga but Suga/Agust D is particularly good at sneaking them in his verses so they land like meteorites.

DKDKTV have a very clever breakdown and explanation of this song, so I highly recommend it if you are interested(They explain the crow-tit and stork lyrics so well). There's a lot of Korean metaphors embedded in this song that I think to appreciate the lyrics, you kinda need a Korean person to explain them to you, as they don't translate well into English. Also, Jaeguchi should be the last resort for lyric video cause their lyric translations are almost always incorrect.

Just wanted to come here to say how much i appreciate your reactions. A lot of reactors don't actually have any insights to share or don't come across as genuine. I always like hearing your thoughts, especially when you go off on a tangent, and i enjoy that your reactions are genuine. I think it's sad that some people misunderstand and take your words personally and dont get the way you communicate. I think the way you say you hate them when you don't want to admit you actually like it a lot and it bothers you that you can't dislike them because yes they are that good... is a very good example. I think its hilarious, but people seriously need to relax. Also thank you for paying attention to the lyrics, some don't but they're so important. I think you have to watch bts videos 3 or 4 times, once for the mv, once for the music itself, once for the choreo and once for the lyrics. Lol It might be worth opening the lyrics on doolset on a different tab and if you're unsure, double check there. They usually explain cultural meanings behind lyrics, like the crow tit part. And those are really difficult to do justice to in lyric videos Looking forward to more bts stuff. On (the manifesto one) is amazing. As is outro tear.

There was a Korean guy who did an explanation video of the song and what a lot of the sayings and idioms meant in the korean culture. He explained it very well and made it make sense and made it now one of my favorite BTS tracks. Its a generational gripe that crosses cultures. The older generation is always saying pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and do it like we did. And the newer generation is saying its not that easy look at the mess you handed us...or at least thats what I got from it

Trust me when i say we also hate those "Army" that attack everyone for their opinion or for just a joke. I watch u because u have a love of rap and therefore its interesting to see your take on BTS but whether YOU like the song or not... or their rap or not it doesn't change the fact that I think they are freaking awesome, that's you, its not your style, its not your vibe, that's cool. I've watched too many reactors that just say nice things about other groups or say a song is awesome (when it's clearly trash) just to please their fans and so people don't attack them. Nobody likes everything! Be real! I prefer genuine reactions and thoughts because that's the reality, and that's why I like to watch reaction videos, if it's bad say its bad, if it's good say it's good. People need to chill and grow up, if you're not mature enough to respect someone else's opinion then don't watch!

There is a lot of meanings in this song relating to cultural divides in Korea that are obvious to the informed but difficult for outsiders to understand. You got somewhere close toward the end though. I’m sure many have explained already but some of the cultural divides can be similarly understood when thinking of the Boomers vs every other generation that came after them. Also “Baepsae” itself is translated sometimes literally as “crow-tit” the bird itself but also as the meaning it holds in culture as “try-hard”. It’s all so very interesting and worth reading a written interpretation of the lyrics if you have time. They are not coming from the ironic perspective at all in this song, as they often do, they took on their current generation’s woes as spokesmen.

Lots of Korean culture references.. Yeah you're right on the subject about the generations but this is a little more complicated.. They're talking about the attitude of the older generation, the storks and the reason why the economy is so bad for the guys generation, the crow-tits.. But the storks, the older ones just keep telling them to try harder and they can maybe achieve the same success, without realizing and acknowledging the fact that it's because of them the younger gen will never be able to own a home or property or maybe have a great job💜💜💜

Thanks for the reaction! I enjoyed it. I sometimes think it's kinda great/funny hearing people's comments to something reactors say/do - makes me think of how humor/use language can of course be universal, but a lot is also very depended on the area/country/culture you're from. Fx even the difference between us neighbors in Denmark and Sweden - generally, Danes use a lot of self-ironi/sarcasm, and generally it's a little less used/used differently in Sweden. So sometimes that sense of humor clashes, in my experience. Maybe Danes are slightly more pivoted towards the UK in that area. Then again, I guess there might be people even in the UK who wouldn't get your sense of humor/way of expressing yourself, but maybe someone in Singapore might. Anways, you seem to be a thinker, so you've probably expressed the same thoughts in previous videos :) Have a good day.

13:45 And this can be taken from a generational point of view that the effort to be able to afford even a home, etc is almost impossible and certainly does not take the same effort as a generation ago...but also how BTS themselves started with small bankrupt BigHit and the amount of effort and work they had to put in just to get their 1st music show win 2 years after debut plus everything else afterwards - they were called dirty spoons (low class nugus - nobodies) for a very long time and even reference it in Mic Drop. They debuted as "Monster Rookies" but because of the classist, almost aristocracy mindset that rules in SK they were actually hated on bc they "shouldn't" have been able to compete with groups from the 'Big 3' - they should have known their place. Just looked at their shocked faces when they won album of the year 2016 at MAMA - 1st outside of the big 3 - it tells you everything.
