An audible in American football is where the quarterback sees something in the defense and changes the play at the line of scrimmage. Basically he’s saying he doesn’t like to change things up.

Audibles is an American football term. It’s when the quarterback sees a defensive team in a set that he can expose by changing the play before he gets the ball to take advantage of the defense

Or when the defense looks like it will destroy your play call and u gotta call an audible so you don’t take a huge loss. Now it’s more of a slang term used when you have to change the original plan when issues arise.

As someone with mental challenges for many years (ocd being one of them) I appreciate the contradictions in his music and also his shift in confidence seems real to me there is another interview where his body language is completely relaxed and at ease There are days where shit comes up out of nowhere and you don’t feel yourself but the trend seems to be upwards which I can relate to fortunately Confidence isn’t a definitive state but a spectrum (it’s not are you confident yes or no? But how confident are you?) Ocd being one of the factors to seemingly regress on that spectrum because of doubt permeating every single aspect of your life sometimes even despite having undeniable proof of the opposite by basically having a warped perception of reality and your mind coming up with all sorts of seemingly reasonable explanations to justify the doubt

Spot on! Recovery from a traumatic incident, depression, and/or an addiction is not purely a positive/upward trajectory. I can only imagine the artistry, in this case music, comes in waves, whether sad or happy.
@acyh4097 Жыл бұрын
The thing with depression (at least in my case) is that its never truly goes away. Sure, you get better, but the scars will always be there regardless, and on bad days it will rear irs ugly head and take you back to that dark place again... Case in point, its fine for me to still hear depressing stuff from Nate but I also enjoy hearing him spazz out on a beat as well. I don't think its contradictory or even deceiving for Nate to put out an album of hard tracks and srill have a calm, slightly depressed attitude while being in the public eye. We are all human, after all.

Yeah so when you unplug a long power cord, you roll it up to keep it organized, then put it away. Served it's purpose now put it away, cleanly. Audibles is an american football reference meaning when the defense is stacked against your initial play call the quarterback yells at the offense to change the play to offset the defense. It's an on the fly thing where you see it's not going to work in your favor then you change the play right away.
@kevincorcoran3562 Жыл бұрын
An audible is a term in American football. Its when the quarterback changes the play it the last second because he thinks a different play will better than the original play that's called. So NF said that he isn't into calling audibles, but I guess you gotta call them when you're odds are at the bottom. Its a "football" bar and also means that he did something different at the last minute by putting out this mixtape which isn't his typical way of how he puts out his music

Funnily enough the Chorus is a double...He mentions tally up count the votes wasn't me That's a Joke, and he repeats that's a Joke a few more times. But in Grinding, he mentions how he should be in the Top 10 then said I'm just playing with you I don't care where the top is. So the Chorus could also be about its a joke that he ain't your favourite but also a joke like he doesn't actually care

An audible is a play a quarter back calls when he changes the plan based on what he sees the defense doing. It's a reactive play. It's not what they had planned to do in the huddle. I think he just means he doesn't want to have to react to what people say but sometimes he feels he has to.

Recently a reactor commented on one of the songs saying how impressive it was that he was wrapping to that instrumental (because it was barely even there- no beat) and then I listened to the songs again and noticed that that was the case in alot of his new songs... It was almost like Acapella... 🤯 I too found it to be soooo impressive and really slept on by reactors and even from listeners reviews and comments (that I've read) I think it's hard to really catch because his cadence is so strong and sorta IS the beat. Not sure if you caught that as well... prolly did, but I thought I'd point it out to you if you haven't because you'd really appreciate it.

So what you are saying is that you are either confident or not. NF a long with every human has many feels about themselves all the time. The struggle only ends when you take your last breath, hopefully everyone can learn to not struggle as much. Also, NF is very humble. I think he not only puts these hype songs out because it helps him be more confident but also for his fans to feel that confidence in themselves. You don't really seem like a fan when you pick apart his words to the point if he says anything different he's being a hypocrite.
@danielalicea5960 Жыл бұрын
When he mentions about audibles, that’s referencing something in American football (it might apply to other sports as well, i’m not sure) where the player backs out of the plan for a play because he sees that it would be unsuccessful based on how the other team is positioned. So calling an audible usually means changing plans at the last minute

When he says rolling up your cord, to my knowledge that’s not slang in the US but just referencing the pulling the cord line. But audibles is a reference to American football. When they are about to run a play, the quarterback can call an audible at the line of scrimmage if he doesn’t like the look the defense is giving him. Which means to call a different play or switch up the plan.

I can see how Nate has been working through a lot of his past trauma that’s been holding him back, but he also has OCD and and anxiety which is not something you can just heal from. There are ways of living with it and coping skills to help, but I don’t know it’ll go away fully, and it’ll be a battle he’ll be dealing with in some way. My husband and 2 grown daughters also suffer from those issues so it’s something I have a front row seat for. If he can get there to be happy, joyful, joking, and fully confident, that would give me further hope that myself and others around me can get there also! Life journey, it's a process... ups and downs...being real. Sometimes, on a high feeling good feelings all the good things and confidence in the mode, but then something happens bringing you down. Does humbleness enter in reminding a person that there is always someone/soemthing better, and then reality of you saying your the best feels foolish? Maybe struggling with wanting to stay humble because that much pride is dangerous? Idk, just thoughts floating around. I also have heard that sometimes something else takes over (alter ego?) when an artists get into their groove and they ARE the top of their game.

Audibles refers to American football where once a quarterback takes a look at the defense and changes the play at the line of scrimmage to take advantage of a weakness based on the defenses alignment.
@nova5067 Жыл бұрын
The line where he's talking about AUDIBLES, is referring to football. An audible is when you call one play, but get up to the line and right before the play starts, someone sees something with the defense that makes them need to change the play. So they will call an audible, which will alter the play called initially.
