Teddy, need to borrow you for a second here. "You are not devils, you are my friends and comrades, but you still have to die." - Bertholt Hoover What hits me so hard is that Sasha had the idea to get more land to produce more meat. And all of the recruits were in the same regiment and planned to grow old together after the war. And then they started dying. Thomas, Mina, Marco and many more; a few turned out to be spies and traitors; Sasha got killed and now the remaining friends are turning on each other. The Scouts are exactly in the same position as the Warriors now back then. To be branded as "traitors" by "former comrades." Like Marco said to Reiner, that they didn't talk it through. Now Conny had to kill Samuel and Daz without a conversation to talk it through. It is just crushing and heart-wrenching. This show is getting more and more difficult to watch.

“Saving the world” it’s why Bret & Reiner did what they did, they thought they had no other choice to save the world. It’s why Connie and Armin are doing what they are doing too. They want to save as many innocent lives as possible, but to do that they have to use violence as their tool, like Uri and now Yelena have said, Violence is the one thing you can’t take from humanity. But is there nothing else? Is forgiveness and love not possible? Will it ever be possible if no side ever decides to make themselves vulnerable with the active decision to spare their enemies?

Even more ironic when you realized if Ymir did survive longer in the series that Daz and the Yeagerists would probably have murdered Ymir without hesitation because she's from Marley, and we saw how Eren and the Yeagerists didn't care in slightest that they were killing other subjects of Ymir solely because they were from Marley. They would've viewed her no differently from Reiner and Annie. EDIT: Actually it's kind of worse when you also consider Eren and the Yeagerist actually killed off a bunch of their former military comrades with those bombings and were part of the plan to get them to drink tainted wine with Zeke's spinal fluid. If they didn't die from the bombings or drank the wine like Hange and Levi, they were just going to put bullets in them instead. So yeash, the Yeagerists really did brought this on themselves.

the thing with armin being a titan, he was completely helpless in that situation everyone is saying "he is the colossal he can transform at anytime" but think, the blast would kill everyone in the fight, including the flying boat they are trying to use to reach eren, its the only hope of reaching eren, so armin would most likely let himself die there without transforming. the fact that daz hesitated so much is the reason connie had enough time to make the decision to shoot daz and save armin. In my opinion Connie didn't have to shoot Samuel because connie took his gun, but I guess he came to terms with having to kill his friends to save the world/complete the mission of wiping out the yeagerist. hard episode to watch, connies VA showed some talent(sorry if there are typos)

Now that I've watched the show version of the Connie/Armin against Daz/Samuel, it dawns on me that the Isayama's move of having Samuel shoot Armin in the mouth is actually genius. Bertholdt wasn't gonna convince anyone because there was no context to his actions at the time in S2E11. Now though, everyone, even the Jaegerists know full well that Eren is stomping the world flat, and Armin might just be the only one who can convince Daz and Samuel to stand down. By having Armin unable to speak, he cannot persuade anyone, and thus Connie had to kill Daz and Samuel like that. Gigantamax brain move, Isayama.

Survey cops are against genocide that'all. They refuse to wait here and let Eren assume "dirty work". And then, they maybe figured out that if they save the world from Eren the world may agree to talk with them to stop this war. Not only for that reason but if they keep the founder powers after they stoped Eren, Marley will know that if they attack Paradise the full rumbling could happen, but instantly this time because the founder is already active, so no possibility for them to destroy Paradise anymore. That situation could open a dialogue between the two sides, even more if Paradise destroys all the military bases which would force them to negociate.

She KNOWS she has killed a lot of people, but also WHY, and is still CERTAIN she would do it again. She has no problem stating her point if view without sugarcoating it. She could tone it down some but I love that she’s honest. Badassery and sassiness aside, I also love her intelligence. She rarely allows emotions to dictate her actions and demonstrates level-headedness and rationality under stressful situations. While not nearly as intellectually brilliant as Armin, Erwin, or Hange, she’s demonstrated quick thinking and problem solving in a pinch. Understand it, the threat of deterrence by the titans is not eternal, the manga never ceases to remind us of this, highlighting the technological progress that will make the titans obsolete sooner or later. And I have already explained to you that at the end of the manga, humanity has the military capacity necessary to overcome the Great Earthworks. It can be seen clearly that it has modern anti-missile batteries and modern military aviation. When it's technology is acquired by humanity, military nuclear power is already something acquired. So yes, humanity in the end of the work already has the mastery of the nuclear weapon. And at that time, the big earthmoving could not be a problem since it will be nip in the bud at any time. The mainland will already have the technology to detect the movement of the titans before they even leave the island and launch intercontinental missiles towards paradise. The wall titans will be destroyed before they even leave the island. So no, the Great Earthquake is no longer a threat at this level where humanity is. Levi said like 3 episodes ago that "My mission is to kill Zeke". That's why he's going to Marley with them. Yelena was the one who told Eren about the geography of Marley and the overall continent in Season 4 Part 1, that's why she might have information about Eren's route to destroy the world.

Lol yeah recognised them both very well. Daz was always scared as fuck. Historia saved him once with Ymir during winter training. He was the one throwing up when the wall first broke in Trost, and Jean told him to get up. Samuel was on the wall with Conny, Eren and everyone else when Colossal appeared. He was the only one knocked out and Sasha saved his life. I found it ironic how Conny ended up killing the same person Sasha saved.

Concerning the title. Most nouns in Japanese don't have a standard plural form (for some of them you can form the plural by adding -tachi at the end, though even the noun by itself can be used as plural, e.g. kodomo (kid, kids) => kodomo-tachi (kids). So the title "uragirimono" 裏切り者 can be translated as "traitor" or "traitors".

He shot Armin first because he doesn’t want to kill them, they’re his friends, this goes to show how all Jaegarists aren’t the same, most of them are like Jean, just want a peaceful life. Because Floch would’ve killed them both without a second thought tbh
@AvereeChaloupka2 жыл бұрын
Also he shot Armin in the mouth - Armin's best tool for avoiding unnecessary casualties. There's a chance, however slim, that Armin could have talked them down and saved their lives.
@t_raywen87502 жыл бұрын
Well i like armin, jean and hanje said, they don’t want to just stand on the sodelines and watch them kill each other. Sure they don’t want to kill their comrades. Sure the only thing want to do is save people and not shed more blood. But i feel like it wouldn’t have made any better people morally if they just stand by and watch them. And then there is also the point that they have to secure the safety of the flying boat. So if they would have just run in there transforming into titans and shooting everyone, they would have blown up the boat immediately. So it makes sense that they had to figure out how to approach the boat first in a stealthy/cunning way like they did

Hello Teddy! How are you? This is my first time doing a comment on your channel, so... nice to meet you! XD Here are my thoughts on this episode. Please hear me out, I will try my best. So, you said you would rather seeing them staying on the side and let them to the dirty work. I understand that, and Jean too. If he stood with his hears shut, he would have a nice place to live and a rest of a really good life. But he didn't. Why? "But then, those ashy bones would never forgive me." And Connie also said in this episode "And watch you guys slaughter each other?". Armin also joined them by refusing Magath deal. You see, they cant stay out off the dirty work. They understand that is unfair to see people dying for them to be safe. Thats why they are totally against The Rumbling. Thats why Marco's last words are so important now. They just needed to talk. Only if they had time... Its a team who aceppts genocide VS a team who doesn't. Friends are among those two. Can someone live "happy" knowing the fact that they are safe because genocide happen on their favour? Idk, but I couldn't. Killing the world to save a few is tottaly wrong. Killing a few to save the world is also wrong. But its the most human option. "How many lifes is my life worth?" - Sick Boy - The Chainsmokers Although i support Eren (and now you may see me has an hypocrite XD), and I dont consider my self an Jaegerist, I can totally undersatnd the Alliance. When I was readding the manga, I felt just like you. But now, that some time has passed and as I am watching the show, I come to the conclusion that this is a complex story. One that is build on so many perspectives. And leading people to conflict, proves that he show is doing its job. If you are reading this until the end, thank you. And I hopefully cleared myself out, and made a difference on your perspective about this show. Bye XD

It's because they haven't adapted chapter 123 yet, so it's harder for some people to imagine that they can't have empathy, just like Hange herself spoke in the last Episode about the months they (Scouts) spent in Marley that made her say that ″ We are no longer the ignorant Devils of the Island, who do not know the outside world″

I think Armin knew they needed to get involved for the plan to succeed. If they hadn’t secured the plane the Jaegarist would have destroyed it right after the warriors attacked. There was no way without them and they hoped for the best, but unfortunately it didn’t go that way.

"Why wouldn't they just stay on the side and let them do the dirty work." It's just as Conny said "And watch you slaughter eachother?" Armin came up with a possible peaceful plan, they couldn't stand and watch with good conscience knowing a potential bloodless solution could've happened. "Kill eachother and have the others kill you later on". Of course they know this, but they proceed anyways because "Genocide is wrong" If they stop Eren they will save possibly hundreds of million more people than if they didn't stop Eren, except the people dying will be the eldians instead of the world. "Why did they shoot Armin first if hes a titan" Someone else answered this too but another reason they did is because obviously Armin can't transform. He would've obliterated the entire port along with the flying boat, his entire squad, the yaegerists, the azumabito, everything. When Armin pushed Daz away and he pointed his gun towards Armin, he was resolved to die for the plan's success.

Armin without a plan -_- My take is that Connie and Armin didn't think it through, and let themselves get too far in the tense situation. They knew plan A could fail, so plan B should've been a quick and swift decoy leading to overpowering their comrades. Instead they were tense and indecisive, letting the conflict with their two comrades get to the worst outcome.

FYI Teddy, the OST used during the last moments of the Episode it's called "Two Lives" (There are also other themes who use the melodies), it was also used during the ending of Declaration Of War. The interesting thing is that the last part of the song, the one used for the Conny and Armin scene, it's an Orchestral version of another song called "THEdogs", a song that has vocals!. You should check out the song with lyrics, sadly it was never used in the anime so far I mention this since you seem to enjoy the OST for the series, and even recognized "Zeke's Plan" playing at the beginning :)

Honestly, the ending of this episode actually made me feel sick, I just can't stop thinking about it, Connie saying they are their friends and then shoots both of them, and the sad part is that Daz had his gun to Armins head, but you could tell by his face that there was no way he ever could have pulled that trigger, for a split second as Daz and Armin look eachother in the eyes you feel like there might still be time to talk this out, but then Connie shoots Daz snapping you right back to reality. It very much reminds me of the beginning of season 3 part 1 when Armin shoots someone to save Jean, although he could tell that she hesitated to shoot Jean and that there might have been a reality where that person didn't have to die

The Paradis members of this alliance needed to be involved for two reasons. First, if this little operation failed the goal to stop Eren is completely over, the flying boat would have been destroyed the moment Annie, Reiner, and Pieck showed up and the Azumabitos would have been slaughtered because they can’t exactly go inside to fight. The second reason was more internal, if they couldn’t bring themselves to fight and kill these Jaegerists, they’d never be able to bring themselves to kill Eren, like Annie mentioned last episode. Also, its a fucked up situation but I think they’ve come to terms with the fact that they are essentially sacrificing Paradis to save the world. So, while it sucks they’re killing each other, if things go according to plan they don’t expect any of these people who are dying to live much longer anyways because once the world is saved it will be the world deciding their fate, and the world is cruel.

2:35 Don't underestimate Levi. Dude has an insane constitution. He just needs to rest a bit. Ackermans are superhuman. Kenny was in his late fifties when he fought Levi. Levi was thirty six or so at this time, and Mikasa is maybe twenty right now. I still believe Kenny died from blood loss, not damage. Kenny was walking around and causing havoc even after Levi gutted him. I think if you get the holes closed up and bones set to heal, Ackermans will be just fine in a few days.

Annie actually cares more than Reiner I'd say she always was cold and antisocial because of what needed to be done even then she risked her mission and life saving Connie and Jean then despite him being her biggest threat spared Armin twice because she was shown to care for him or he had the biggest effect on her also she showed Eren how to fight I think she did it on purpose and it said amongst Annie fans that when she cried after her failed attempt at kidnapping Eren was because she killed all them people for nothing she was also only warrior to see Marley for what they were Sorry got too into that lol the more I've learned about Annie the more I understand her
