Carrie Green started her first online business at the age of 20, whilst studying Law at the University of Birmingham. Within a few years she took the business global, selling throughout the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe and receiving over 100,000 hits on the website every month. In 2011 Carrie launched the Female Entrepreneur Association as a way to help inspire and connect female entrepreneurs from around the world. The network has grown to over 140,000 women and they now produce a digital magazine, This Girl Means Business, weekly videos, free online classes and more.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

It definetely can be an accident as well. Bo Derek never wanted to be a star nor did she know what she wanted, or what she was as a person - she was a young girl dragged into a movie and suddenly became an icon of a generation. Just one example. But it can work like you said as well.

Probably no one is gonna read these but anyway. So I was reading some comments and some people are just saying that she is only speaking about her business, that you only have to think positively or that life is short or whatever. In a certain way it is like 80% about that, however all the other stuff I would describe it as not instructional enough, why? Because is a ted talk, you won't have a lot time to explain a lot of stuff. Here is what I've noticed since I've being doing some research on accomplishing goals: -Knowing what you want in life, I've seen a lot in several videos that you have to write down your goals, and set a deadline, otherwise you'll just be thinking about something and not doing anything at all - Visualization: it's a mental tool to help you get where you wanna go, like litterally feel like you are there, picture all the details, (the unconsciousness doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's not, so if you already thinking about something, your unconsciousness will work hard to make that happen - Meditation: she said she had a lot of worries and uncertainty, one of the things that meditation does to your mind is to help you clearify all of those bad thinking and calm down your anxiety - Positive reforce thinking: Every time a negative thought comes to your mind, you have to "fight it back" with positive thinking, again cause of the unconsciousness thing. And that's so far what I can say imo. Thanks for reading ;)

I love how she emphasized the fact that not knowing how to do it didn't stop her for going for her goals She still worked hard for it and she planned it. She was very intentional and sure on what she wanted But she also allowed herself time to figure out how to do things. The what is more important than the how 'cause the how is more technical and you can come up with something as times goes by and you get to know more on the topic

The fact that what's going on upon your head has such a huge impact on the actions that you take, on the decision you make, and the things that you experience. Whereas the rest of ppl are just submitting to the random thoughts mind produces. i hope it made sense!

Even though I am a man I wanted to say thanks and wanted to point out a problem that you solved for entrepreneurs without voicing it. The challenge with entrepreneurs (men and woman) is their independence, the very heart and reason of why they chose to strike out on their own, is also the reason they feel stuck, lonely, and unable to make good decisions. When we work alone we lose perspective and have no other points of relativity because we play a game of mental ping pong game within our heads and unless you are extremely lucky, inspired or pure genius, you cannot progress because the same mind that is posing the problem is asking the other side for the solution. By having an association or networking group etc... you give the entrepreneurs, business people, independent contractors a platform and community to address the issues of isolation and loneliness that come with the territory of being an entrepreneur. Bravo and Thank You!

As for me the main idea or summary is to make your life, thoughts, actions, wishes, desires, talks as well - all around your goal and it eventually will work out! It happened to me though I wasn't doing it on purpose and was unconscious. I was thinking about that thing, talking about it, visualizing, feeling extremely excited and elevated when it came about it, dreaming, adoring, respecting and it happened! and it's amazing!

First three parts are relatively easy for me to get, and can be answered pretty quickly and clearly: 1. What do I want to achieve? Put simply: To create video games, and then movies and animations and comics and toys, etc. too. 2. Why do I want to achieve it? Put simply: Because video games are the things closest to my heart in the entire world. And I love all forms of entertainment too and have this great passion for creating things that other people can enjoy similarly. 3. What kind of person do I need to become in order to make it happen? Not quite as simple: Someone who's actually willing to put in the time and effort required to learn how to make games and then actually make games, and a person who can encourage and get other people who are similarly passionate to work on my games too, so I don't have to do it all alone. Forth part a little harder to nail down and figure out the best way to do this: 4. Program your mind to make it happen. Not really simple at all: Tried a whole load of stuff, and in moments in my live I have moved towards my goals pretty well, but I've always fallen back and never quite gotten to where I truly want to be. And I've never got rid of those doubts and demons that keep holding me back and making me give up more quickly than I should and so on. I've had the first two nailed since I was a teen. I've understood the third part mostly for a long time too, and I certainly intellectually understand it, even if I'm not fully living it day to day. But that forth part is the bit that has largely eluded me for most of my life. Guess I'll keep trying with the mediation and affirmations and audio tapes and so on though, and see how it goes. . . .

Hi Chef, here's a dish you may just enjoy. On the subject of "programming your mind to achieve it." It took me 15 yrs. to reach my life goal. In the process I learned things. I wrote this short paper to help others achieve their goals fast and easy. Be forewarned, I'm a psychic who obtained this information through psychic means. TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS YOU MUST FIRST OWN IT! What does it mean to own success? In my mind owning success is when you've internalized faith in a definition of success and by doing so, manufactured the internal belief necessary for it's mental spiritual and physical manifestation. Internalizing goals can be long and complicated, until now. I'd like to share an exercise that will instantaneously internalize your chosen goals and new beliefs. It's great to have goals but they really mean very little until we put action behind them. The greatest intent to do something does not in itself put any food in the stomach of a starving child. If we want to make a difference we must put action behind our words. But it seems so hard to fight for the things we really want. Why is that? My spirit doctors say the answer to that question is found in the question itself. It's hard to fight for what we want because fighting for it is the problem in the first place. We should never fight for our goals. The goals we find ourselves fighting for are found outside of our physical selves, out in our surrounding aura. The fact we must fight for them shows we've not yet internalized them fully. Think about it. Think of a goal you want but have not yet achieved. Notice how it feels to exist outside of your physical self? Now compare it to a goal you had in the past that you already achieved. Notice how that goal feels like it exists inside of you. We must internalize our goals to effortlessly achieve them. How to internalize your goals and new beliefs is the subject of this weeks spirit teaching. There are many ways to internalize goals but this one is totally original and highly effective. By following the recipe you'll experience results right now. Spirit taught me the importance of juicing everyday. I'm not talking my vegetables, I'm talking visuals. Play along. Follow the spirit given recipe and decide for yourself. Once a goal is internalized the friction for achieving it will be gone meaning you won't have to fight for it's manifestation. Your decision to have it will be enough. STEP #1] Take out a piece of paper and write down a goal. Describe your goal in as much detail as possible. This piece of paper becomes your goal blueprint. STEP #2] Now read your blueprint and visualize the goal. See yourself as having already obtained that which you want the most. [Mental visuals are the language of the subconscious.] STEP #3] Imagine a juicing machine in front of you. Take your goal blueprint with both words and visuals, roll it up and imagine yourself pushing the goal blueprint through the juicer. Make the zzzzzzzzzzzzz sound as you juice your blueprint with all the mental visuals you just created. Now in your imagination your left with a full glass of goal juice. Use your coffee cup or a glass of water if trying this at home. The liquid in your cup is your goal blueprint in a spiritually potent liquefied state. STEP #4] Now hold your imagined glass of juice [or a physical glass of water] with both hands, raise the glass above your head giving sincere thanks for it's certain fulfillment. See bolts of lightning energizing the glass. Lower it to your mouth and drink down the liquid version of your goal blueprint. Tilt your head back as you swallow the liquid goal all the way down to the base of your spine. Don't just take a little sip, drink the full glass all at once. Gulp it. Physically swallow your chosen goal. Go through all the motions in your mind if your just using your imagination. Notice how your goal blueprint no longer feels outside of your physical body? You have just internalized that which is most important to you. Your now relaxed state around even the thought of this goal helps to naturally manifest it's physical reality. Because it's internalized your decision to have it will be enough. Keep in mind that juicing visuals is like taking spiritual medicine. You need to keep taking your medicine every day until your self chosen goal is well on it's way to being achieved. I juice the same thing up to five times a day, until I get it. Once practiced a juicing session takes only seconds. Juice whatever you need. A relaxed self before your speaking event, your vision of true self healing, the Bentley or Mercedes you saw last week. Build and juice the true definition of your higher self. You'll instantaneously become one with what you juice. Here's a way to sample this, just for fun juice your significant other. It feels weird but cool. Repetition is required. What you juice will slip away if not reinforced. Build your new reality by drinking ever better crystal clear visuals. Spirit has taught the physical structure for belief and visualization is one part of that four part recipe. The more you practice visualizing the stronger visuals become. The stronger the visuals the more potent the juice. Your belief manifest reality. This is real magic! When we internalize our goals we eliminate natural friction and no longer struggle to attain them. When we juice a needed healing or physical goal we will immediately become spiritually attuned / attracted to it. We won't have to fight for it, or with it. Our goals will become alive with just a simple decision to own them. We can have A*N*Y*T*H*I*N*G once we know how to get it. Anything! If you want it, juice it! When you get down to it success is a choice. Follow the simple recipe and self manufacture a new choice personal reality. The Geriatric Hippie P*E*A*C*E

Siddhant Doshi Ok.... 3 years ago I was told that I was going blind. I am 38 and I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. I am an artist so to be told that I was going blind at 35 was devastating. I already had to overcome a whole lot of crap in my life and now I was told that I am going blind. Right before I was diagnosed I just started a business and it was doing great but because of the decrease in eye sight I had to stop doing what I was doing and close shop. I was beyond depressed O and 2 days before my diagnoses my 8 year old cat died :-( What could go wrong went very wrong and I didn't know what to do with my life. I was a cry baby mess. I figured why should I plan for anything when everything changes. After a long depression I went to spend time with my sister. What she said to me changed my life. She said Barbara you remind me of a mighty Oak tree. Big, beautiful and strong but the oak tress has very short roots so when a strong wind blow the tree will fall right over. You need to be like the bamboo tree. The bamboo tree is strong, tall and flexible but unlike the oak tree it has deep roots so when a strong wind blows it will bend and move with the wind and never fall and never brake. She said Barbara be like the bamboo tree flexible with deep roots. At the time I was being ridged and inflexible. AFTER ALL THAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH I took my sisters advice and this is what I achieved.... I will be celebrating my 19th wedding anniversary with my loving husband this June, I started a new business and it is now successful and I got certified as a Holistic Life Coach and I have helped many people help themselves. I know that if I can overcome what I went through I can help other people overcome. I have learned to use all my personal resources to the fullest.... This is what this video is all about. Find your own God given resource and use it to the fullest... The reward is not given to the one that is the quickest or the smartest but to those who endure.... You want to know what I achieved Siddhant? I was told that I was going blind and I am still seeing and my life is better now then before my diagnoses... What Carrie said is the truth. Keep going and don't give up. Yes it has been a long time for you but don't give up. Know what you want and know that you can have it and keep striving to get it until you have success. Don't ever give up.

Getting clear on our goals can increase odds of getting where we want to get. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and conclude that they guarantee we'll get there. People who really believe in what they want, with clear goals how to get there fail all the time due to a variety of reasons and circumstances. You just don't hear from them, because they're not in the spotlight. Plus, remember that Carrie lives in a first world country, with first world problems.

This is one of the best TED talks that I have listened to, it gives us great insights that what really is hindering us from achieving our dreams is oureselves. If we would just change our mindset and learn to believe in ourselves and our capabilities, we could achieve anything that we wish to achieve. By eliminating all the negative thoughts and doubt's in our head, it could benefit not only our careers but improve who we are as an overall person.

What an EXCELLENT talk.. "I realized that if I could get my mind to be certain that I could make something happen, then somehow I would figure out a way. And I always have. Because success is no accident. Living an incredible life is no accident. You have to do it on purpose. And it starts by knowing EXACTLY what it is you want to achieve, why you want to achieve it, and knowing what kind of person you need to become to make it happen, and then programming your mind to make it happen." - Carrie Green.

Success is no accident! That was beautiful punch line. We always see in organizations policies, quality is no accident. It is exactly similar to that. And I think it is no accident because there are many people are trying for success & you have to really compete or stand out by either your efforts or intelligence or focus or intensity or passion whatever is your strong point. Loved it.

thats exactly why u people are so miserable and negative,FEELINGS OVER THOUGHTS!!!!! u live life by feelings you will be successful, u live life with ur thoughts u will be miserable,,the world is at where its at because of peoples thoughts! take an example of this,when ur born u dont know anything but u do feel things say for example ur first time seeing fire u dont know(THOUGHTS) what its going to do but if u touch the fire(FEEL) u will get burned and u will generate that thought so next time u see fire ur thoughts will kick in because of ur feelings,SO ITS NOT ALL ABOUT THOUGHTS !1.GOD.2.FEELINGS then 3.thoughts ..for ur information follow the facts(feelings) and not opinions(thoughts)!

Well, take it easy. How do you know if I'm sad. I'm absolutely not and I never said that. I do agree with you a little. when you think a positive thought, you should FEEL it. Not just state it, but feel it. That's how it works. But other than that, many thoughts joined together create a feeling, don't they? Cheers :)
@MYWRXSTI
@MYWRXSTI 9 жыл бұрын
I was referring to the general population and how they all let their toughts control their feelings and eventually their lives. And that's where the problem is letting ur thought control ur feelings. Try focusing on feelings n let ur thoughts generate through feelings n not the other way around that's what am trying to say. I hope you and everyone is and/or will be happy but reality is u can't do a right with a wrong period. But notice nowadays it's vice versa trying to do the right with the wrong and where has it gotten? That's my point I was trying to make. Obviously we need both positive and negative energy and t can be both thoughts and feelings but if u compare the two u would realize that thoughts ends up being negative and feelings positive and I say this because by following your feelings you get to where you want to be but by following thoughts u end up where you don't want to be or even expect to be. Try it out yourself and let me know the conclusion. You will notice that you will develop better thoughts when you listen to your feelings rather then thought.Cheers 😊
