Being the Mom of two sons with a form of Icthyosis has been challenging to say the least. Having Friends like Tina and Rog and Mui and listening to their personal struggles shows me that I'm not alone. Thanks so much friends for sharing your story, and I pray a Publisher comes your way very soon.

Mui along with her family are the definition of what true beauty is, that can increase with time unlike the outer superficial shell that diminishes as time goes by. You must tend it though and be aware of it because it will only increase in its radiance in proportion to the love in your heart. Why are there people like Mui that have to suffer and carry these heavy burdens, I cant answer that but maybe because there's strength in beauty and sometimes the world needs strong beautiful people like Mui to shine the spotlight on what's truly ugly, the evil, the heartless and the haters.

What an inspiring girl. I looked up how people with this condition look at birth - it must be so frightening both for the parents and the other kids in school since this is so unusual, and people fear what they do not understand. This girl has grown into such an admirable adult and she is doing other people with an unusual appearance (and everyone else) a great service by doing this TED talk.

At about 1:20-30, Thomas says she's really no different to "the all of us" he was incredibly incorrect, she is far, far STRONGER in body, mind, personality and soul !!!! Any time I feel down or start down whiney self pity roads I look to ppl like Mui and realize how I've nothing to complain about. Not for the reason that many ppl I've known( I as well, though no more) would see her and "whew! Boy I'm glad that's not me!" What I see is her strength! She rises above it, she refuses to give in or up! You see we've got it wrong, instead of being happy and grateful we aren't like her. We should should strive to be more like her!!! People like her and the kid with butterfly skin are true heroes to me.

So so so beautiful. Amazing family! I would love to adopt a baby or child with extra needs because they deserve as much love, if not more. And I have a lot to give ❤

The problem with that button is that it's autogenerated, and I never liked how Google butch the english language in video, especially when people have strong accents.

I wonder if Vitamin-A can fix that. I seen cases of really bad skin problems. And the cure was giving the body a large amount of vitamin A.

Ichthyosis is a genetic disorder, there's no cure for it, just ways to manage it.
