Sooo...since you said usa isnt innocent, what punishment has the usa govt receive? < To those in the comment section who still protect the Chinese Communist Party, I propose the question of why.> Cos the govt were in the right? Cos the protest is clearly foreign funded? Cos the pattern is similar with hongkong riot? Yet they are living a better life than those in the early 90s. And since they are living a better life, doesnt that mean that the rioters were in the wrong and govt were in the right? Lets say...you. Youve got two option, go to, say, new york to try your luck or go to, say...texas. Say you go to new york and after 20 years, your wealth is still so so. In another timeline, you went to texas. And after 20 years, your wealth is much more than 20 years ago. Based on this two scenario, texas ought to be the right choice. Thus, since china is rich now, not toppling down the govt in 1989 was the right choice. Thats my answer to your "Why" question. So, please answer my question as well.

Very relevant to today because if you notice there are Chinese on this forum basically stating that they cannot have democracy as it causes too much unstabliity and it is not "safe". Meanwhile right now in the West, under the rationale of health safety (and needing a "Great Reset") that we could be on our way to losing our freedoms and taking on a system similar to Chinese social credit score. Our democratic systems are in great peril right now.

The rioters that year killed many soldiers . Why didn’t you mention it? I watched the video. The tank guy stood in front of the tank but the tank driver warned him and dodged him who was taken away by his fellow rioter.

But yes rioters also attacked soldiers. However they didn’t have guns. So they were easily ran over

This guy only gave the background of the story but not the TRUE DETAILS. We should not take a piece of information and treat it as the full complete picture !! How many times have we made up our minds when we only see a single clue... Million times !! People who are already NOT in favor of China would believe every single thing the opposition parties claim... That's when hatered / fear / misunderstanding continues for centuries & generations.

A question to supporters of the protest. Looking at how succesfull china today, doesnt that invalidate the protest? Doesnt that mean that the government is right n the protesters are wrong?

Progress doesn't have anything to do with human rights. You can have a prosperous plutocracy (like China) or a poor one (like North Korea). China is effectively a capitalist nation now, which the US is as well, the only difference is in numbers. China dominates because of the active workforce, which it could very well do if it were a democracy.

These protests happened for many reasons. But yes one of the reasons was “poor economy” which was true at the time. However main reasons for the event was “free will” based (mainly because their most democracy minded top guy died) after then they have in my opinion gained more freedom even tho they still have the great firewall but most of Chinese people have access to vpn nowadays
