I don't think Tee plays any instruments. He just composes using a computer program. (Fruity Loops, I believe.)

You cannot compose music on this complex epic level without knowing the basics of music & the complex levels of music. Tee Lopes uses a lot of complex chords such as sevenths, ninths, elevenths & thirteenths in his compositions - which are all derived from Jazz. And the reason why I know that is because I am a musician as well who plays piano & uses Jazz chords in my music. Just like Tee Lopes, I do covers of songs as well in my own signature style. Recently I did a piano cover music video of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers theme & incorporated scenes from the show. I went the 30th Anniversary RangerCon early this summer & showed it to the various cast members - David Felding (Zordon), Barbara Goodson (Rita Repulsa - Voice), Walter Emmanuel Jones (Zack), David Yost (Billy), Steven Cardenas (Rocky). Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam), Karan Ashley (Aisha), Catherine Sutherland (Kat) & Nakia Burrise (Tanya) - & they loved it. The founder of RangerCon Michael Buoni saw it & loved it & later on the music composer of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Ron Wasserman hit me up on Instagram showing me love (Check out the video here at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIm8lpxulLOeqNk ). So when you say that Tee Lopes doesn't play any instruments, I was totally at a loss of words. Yes he uses FL Studio to compose his compositions & so do I. However everything is done on the piano keys first. Tee Lopes has gone from being a KZbin Cover Remixer to being a video gamer composer superstar. I have followed him since these early remixes & I kept on saying "Sega NEEDS to hire you!". Once I found out he was doing the soundtrack for Sonic Mania - I KNEW it was going to be something special. That soundtrack is a masterpiece. Every single song Tee Lopes transforms into a banger. If Tee Lopes music was something that the industry used to rank the charts, his music would rank at Number 1. This man is a legend in the making & if you hear some of the unused music that he uploaded recently that didn't make it into Sonic Mania, you will see how brilliant he is at his musicianship. Even the unused music from Sonic Mania are bangers - & some of them sound even better than stuff that made it into the final game - like the unused credits theme. Tee Lopes is living the dream right now composing for video games. All of us who are musicians give Tee Lopes a lot of respect because he is doing music for the love of it & getting accolades just like we all are striving to do. Big-ups to Tee Lopes on all of success. It is truly well earned. @TeeLopes

Tee Lopes, I know its been long, but it would be cool if Sega could use this songs from you. This re-imagined version of several classic Sonic songs should be used in a spinoff (like Sega All Stars fighting crossover game or something like that). These songs really deserve a worthy spot in video game history lol. I bet that you could win some award for Sega someday in best soundtracks category.

I believe I'm effective when it comes to tasteful creativity, without modifying the original too much... maybe you don't like to call it a remix, but hen again maybe that's not what I want it to be at all. I thought ocremix was a whole different concept, but now I realize its not something I would want to be associated with afterall. Music should have no boundaries, specially when set by a group of "know-it-all" individuals.

One thing that REALLY drew me to Sonic the Hedgehog was the music from this stage. It sounded like a lot of the awesome pop songs that I was fond of in the early 90s and just hearing it while playing through the colorful stage just put a big old grin on my face.
