Using homebrew apps like hekate, pretendo, switchroot, and atmosphere custom firmware for the Nintendo Switch, was able to turn my switch into a phone.

In this modding video, I turned my Nintendo Switch into a Phone by using different homebrew apps and Atmosphere custom firmware. Turing my nintendo switch into a phone allowed to me use Android on it and play different android games from the Google play store. I played different games on my modded Nintendo Switch in this video and tried to make a phone call. My content is inspired by laiyenz, The Retro Future, scott the woz, Chillyn', and Macho Nacho Productions.

Remember that in the Wii days there was a rumor that Nintendo would start making cellphones. I just laugh at the idea but there are times I think it would have been nice if I can just do calls on my 3DS or Switch with no need to carry my phone around.

I literally remember back then there was the switchroot project that managed to run Android and Linux but years later, official LineageOS team decided to make Android for switch. I also used have Android on my switch but removed it because I wanted more games lol

@@dirtydirtsgt4751 The Android 10 was the best one I tried if you want performances but for me Android 11 was sluggish. It could be my fault for not formatting entirely Android 10 before installing Android 11 because what I did was often referred as a dirty flash and I used a custom TWRP ROM made for the Switch to flash Android. There are some issues in games like Roblox if you use Android 10 but excluding that only game, I think it's the best stable one so far. By the way I have an Erista V1 Switch so of course it won't be better than chipped Mariko models performance wise. Oh btw any Android version after the 12 for the Switch is horrible performance sadly

You used an unofficial build of ljneage os that is not being maintained anymore which is why it only was android 11 but you could have used the officially supported rom for the switch from the lineageos maintainers which is currently at android 14.

(this might be a repost, I don't know if KZbin blocked my original message.) By default Google Voice will try to use your carrier dialer (which the Switch lacks). To fix this, go to settings and set the "making and receiving calls" option to "prefer WiFi and Data".

dedicated a separate flash drive for the android, installed there retroarch to play old consoles. I also installed an anime and manga app because without joystick switch is basically a small tablet/tv with a wireless controllers. I also installed steamlink if I wanted to play computer games on the couch as on the steamdeck. When I need a regular switch I just insert another sd and play as usual (I threw a sd card into the cartridge slot), but lately I have been using the android much more often when switch side/ switch is really. switch is really full of possibilities thanks to enthusiasts i love it for that
