4:40 You give people too much credit G9. One interaction I will never forget in DS3. I was invaded at the start of the Painted World DLC, and the invader must have had like three brain cells. I was using a scimitar and at one point got an R1 hit on him. And because of DS3 mechanics that gave me a second R1. Then I waited a second to see what he'd do, he parried the air. So I hit him twice again and waited, he parried the air again. I think I did this twice more, each time I was expecting him to do anything but parry out of hit stun, and when he did nothing different, I did the same thing. What I'm getting at is that even when you think it's obvious that someone will realize what is and isn't working they'll surprise you.

Well, they at least understood a basic. Given the way your average PvEr mashes, could easily win a dozen DS3 mundane invasions in a row just from setup parries from R1 mashers, or tanking & parrying 3rd swing. Hornet Ring and it's over. Bad habit thinking you were a common masher. Your average DS3 player probably didn't even understand at least what they did.

What I sometimes like to do against mashers is just menacingly assert dominance with a powerful 2H-R2 follow up, when I know my own poise/HA is enough to tank their mash. Omen Cleaver R2 chop has a big fat MV and frame-1 hyper on release. Claymore & Zwei R2 have big MVs in addition to thrust/counter. Absolutely favorable trade, and possibly have them in hit stun again. Use of the R2s is also where handy tech or crouch cancel can have a bigger recovery impact, or as usual a fast/step weapon art to mitigate risk.

Coming back to the game after about a year off, Jeenine. Any chance we can get a video on what’s changed since release? Quick state of the game re: all the patches that have come out? Also curious about all the known true combos so I know what to look out for when dueling again.

go back and watch all the vids regarding the latest patch (1.10) so much changed in that update that made many previous patches irrelevant

As a scythe main this is very helpful. A lot of times i whiff the running r1 and get punished. Truly a jeenius.

i love scythe's i've played with them since ds1. although they have always been really off-meta, it's really nice to see some love to them.

For the Scythe 2H-Running-R1, I find it necessary to remind myself to try to space the attack to hit with the outer edge of the swinging blade, rather than try and land a sweet spot with the sharp point - a mental holdover from DS2 Scythe sweet spot mechanic days.

I'll just say this... people are sleeping on the halo scythe... pretty good mix ups with the AoW and attacks, spells, whatever you want, Gigas even had found a true combo with that.

when you said "hyper armor out of hit stun" around 4:02 do you mean u can break out of hit stun or use it after to retaliate, and by using hyper armor does that mean specific ashes of war

On PC the grave scythe is just a status stick you can't poke with.

One of the things I despise most about ER PVP is having to rely on OP ashes of war just to survive a gank squad. It just feels cheap to me

I don't think it's your controller, the game eats inputs a lot more than it should. I'll mash L2 to parry or do the ash of war and my character will just stand there sometimes, lol. Some times it does it when I go to roll.

Majority of the pvp community can’t hard swap mid combat to bhs,endure or light roll & that’s probably more laziness than anything.

Silence knives and silence arrows. That's one of the things this game needs. Or a silence status, in general. I can already picture the uproar of redditors asking for a nerf.
