Teemu Suninen testing ahead of 2021 WRC Rally Monza w/ a Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC Plus!

It always amaze me the fact I totally love WRC's pre-event testing but I've never managed to attend one, both because I never know the places/days of these tests in advance and because they generally take place too far away from where I live. Since I learned that the final round of the 2021 World Rally Championship would be held in Monza again, I have done everything possible to find out the dates and locations of these tests (which had also occurred last year).
Luckily last week I found that they were going to be held almost exactly on the same roads of last year's ones, with Toyota testing in the North of Friuli region (too far for me) and Hyundai back on the routes it used last year North of Brescia, whose travel times are much more accessible for me. So yesterday I went to attend the second day of Hyundai testing held with Teemu Suninen behind the wheel.
The Finn driver was recently announced as part of the Hyundai's lineup for the upcoming ACI Monza Rally together with Thierry Neuville, Daniel Sordo and Oliver Solberg. Teemu will replace 2019 WRC champion Ott Tänak in the season finale who had to cancel his participation due to personal family reasons. The course used for the test was a 2.5 km uphill road with both fast sections, some sequences of slower corners and some hairpin bends. Once reached the top, the course was covered downhill.
Since I'm not going to attend the 2021 ACI Monza Rally, it was nice to see for the last time one of the WRC Plus era cars in action with a pro rally driver before being replaced by the new hybrid Rally 1s next year. I'll really miss these aero monsters and their incredible speeds in fast sections.

How many cameras do you need to set up, do you have to hire a lot of people to man the cameras?

For this video I only needed two cameras: one hand-held and one on a tripod which I moved from place to place every time the car completed a full run of the special stage (uphill + downhill passage). As it happens with all my videos, I am all alone recording, producing and then editing the clips I bring home from the various events. The only help I have in recent years comes from some friends of mine, who are youtubers too with their own channels. This help consists in collaborations we do when we're together at the same events and at the end we exchange each other the material we have recorded. If I upload a video using also some of their clips, not only my watermark '19Bozzy92' is shown in the video but also theirs ;)

Per questa occasione ti devo dire che mi son preparato già dall'anno scorso segnandomi i luoghi dove Toyota e Hyundai avevano testato per il Rally di Monza 2020, in vista di una possibile edizione 2021 anche se inizialmente non era stata inserita nel calendario WRC 2021. Quando un paio di mesi fa è arrivata la conferma dell'edizione 2021 ho fatto due calcoli sul possibile periodo dei test (ho considerato le 2-3 settimane prima dell'evento stesso) e tenuto sott'occhio quasi quotidianamente i siti web di quei 4 paesi/comuni utilizzati nel 2020 per vedere se venivano pubblicate delle ordinanze di chiusura strade. E così è stato, fortunatamente. Facile abbia fatto il triplo della fatica e magari mi bastava andare su qualche forum dedicato ai rally per trovare date, orari e luoghi precisi. Ma ad oggi non mi è mai capitato di riuscire a trovare nulla di tutto ciò su quei forum

Sometimes the zoom is useful. But the more you zoom in, the more you take away the feeling of speed, and the more the close-up on the car is, the more static it looks. Who cares if the car is close up, we know cars! Why the most impressive videos, by far, are the ones that have no zoom, or very little ?!

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
