It’s a real challenge to get over bullying. I was ignored at primary school. bullied at secondary school and “teased” constantly and mercilessly by my sisters. I am almost 53, have never gotten over it, and aside from my husband I struggle with intense, extreme isolation. I don’t remember the last time I had a friend to hang out with, it was more than 20 years ago for sure. Bullying ruins lives. No one deserves to be treated that way.

People bullied me for losing weight and no one stood out for me besides my family. It ruined my chance to be with my first love. I've never had any real friends up until college where I've met 2 of my closest friends at. College is far better than high school imo. Being bullied has ruined my life in a lot of ways. l grew up with selective mutism which is a severe form of anxiety disorder where you're unable to speak in certain settings like school. Obvsiouly that put a big target sign on my back for others to bully me. There would be times when i would just cry and ask myself why i was unable to talk. l seriously felt like something was wrong with me. l was anxious, odd and mute. All the bullying l had to endure for several years took a huge toll on my soul/mind. 2 years ago, l strated university and realized i was still super frustrated/lonely. A typical day at university was just me sitting through the whole lecture and returning home without uttering a single word to anyone. So last year l decided i'd go see a psychiatrist. l got diagnosed with dysthymia. (chronic depression with less severe symptoms) and they gave me some meds and put me on cognitive behavioral therapy. l never took the meds for some dumb personal reasons. Now l'm 22 years old. l live with my parents. l've stopped taking care of myself. l'm usually paranoid and angry around people. l'm a bitter and envious person. l have no friends or even acquaintances. l'm unable to function in social settings. l feel hopeless and rejected by the whole world. l'm pretty much used to spending my time sitting at a computer. l still have good days here and there and those are worth living for in my opinion. Watching this video was enough to put me in a bad mood so i had to get this stuff off my chest in the comments section. My heart goes out to anyone who has to deal with mental illness and bullying.

hello, i never had selective mutism, but i deal with social anxiety and i've always been really quiet, even in university, i'm also 22 so i feel u xd. i hope you feel better and overcome your struggles. i've never been to a psychiatrist for my social/generalised anxiety, but what helped me is researching a lot abt the topic, and especially researching about childood trauma. i realised that being emotionally neglected as a child aswell as other family things, made me a quiet anxious person who's afraid of opening up and talking abt my feelings and afraid of people's attention. so i started processing those feelings for the first time, and allowing myself to cry and writing in my journals, all of this helped me tremendously, made me less scared of pple's judgement/attention/neglect/mocking... and made me more comfortable in my skin. i hope this helped, have a gud day :)

When I was In grade 1 I got my head thrown against a brick wall and I had a concussion for a while. And I've been bullied everyday and still to this day as I am 17 in grade 12. I got so used to it that my body developed a pain tolerance and that's why I don't feel pain anymore. Like I can touch a hot stove for more than 5 seconds.

I watch these videos because I have been both bullied and the bullier. Me being bullied caused me to bully other kids, so I would be accepted by the bullies. I stopped bullying kids around 6th grade because of one particular person. I made him cry so hard, that it made me rethink my life. The hard part is, I think about him daily and never had the chance to say that I was sorry. It's been about 30 years since that moment and it haunts me to this day. There is no place in this world for bullying, help contribute to stopping it.
